Vehicle Detail
1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL 84,487 Original Miles - Colorado Car Car History: -Car was purchased new in Colorado by a lady who traded it for Jeep in 1991-I purchased it from the Jeep dealer in November 1991 with 38,000 miles on the odometer.-I drove it 4,346 miles and sold it to my daughter in October 1995. It has never left Colorado, has always been garaged and now has 84,487 miles on the odometer. I am selling it for my daughter who recently acquired a low mileage Acura. The car was serviced for most of its life by Rotary Specialists, Denver, CO until they went out of business a few years ago. Oil has been changed at least twice a year. Over the past three years, Lakewood Mazda has replaced a coolant hose, one drive belt, the wiper motor, and an oil pressure switch. Condition: -This car is totally stock. It has not been modified mechanically or appearance wise in any way. Color is a light greenish blue metallic.-Body is rust free. There are no door dings. Car has never been in an accident. Original paint still shines well except for the hood which shows wear. Primer is beginning to show down the center of the hood (see photo #6). Panel under the bumper is missing one clip on the right side and has the usual scrapes on its lower edge from concrete parking barriers. The black rubber molding behind the left rear wheel is missing one retaining clip. There is one marble size dimple on the metal panel between the hood and bumper (photo #18). The Jeep dealer riveted their name badge to the metal above the left taillight - it was removed and replaced with a fuel injection badge from another car to cover the two rivet holes.-Interior is in excellent condition with no tears, splits or stains in the grey cloth seats and headliner. Dash cover is perfect. All instruments and switches are intact and in great condition.-Tires (purchased May 2008) are mounted on rust free Mazda alloy wheels. Four Blizzak tires (purchased November 2007) mounted on pitted Mazda wheels also come with the car.-There is no play in the steering.-Rotary engine and automatic transmission are in good condition. Dealer noted minor oil leaks but did not see the need for repair.-On a very hot day, after the car was driven for 20 minutes, I heard a high pitched whistle coming from the rear when the car was stopped which I assume is the fuel pump. The engine was operating perfectly with no signs of fuel starvation.-Air conditioner does not hold a charge for more than a few weeks.-Factory radio operates intermittently and rear antenna fails to go up and down.-I installed one new rear window strut which adequately holds up the rear window and aluminum louvers. A second new strut comes with the car.-Original pinstriping is intact and in good condition.-Photos show car with and without rear window louvers. They were removed for repainting and are now reinstalled on the car. Features:-Factory manual sunroof is leak free and operates as it should.-Rear window louvers are in perfect condition.-Automatic transmission with overdrive in this car may not be for everyone but at least the possibility of engine/transmission abuse is remote.-Two sets of tires mounted on Mazda alloy wheels.-A Mazda Factory Workshop Manual and a Haynes RX7 Manual (both never used) come with the car.
