Mecham built 500 of these cars, but only 10 were red and only ONE was built with red paint and black louvers and here it is. For those of you who don't know what a MR MSE Trans-Am is, it is a Mecham Racing, Motorsports Edition Trans-Am. Note: the following information has been gathered from my research and may not be definative. These cars were built by Mecham Racing who had dealerships in Glendale, AZ and Tacoma, WA. In 1982 Mecham built 500 of these cars and approximately 300 of those were street versions. Less than 10 came in red paint and only one with red paint and black louvers. MSE's were equiped with a full width front spoiler and high tech rear spoiler. The original 305 engines received "GIT KIT" which included a Holley 600cfm carb, different performance intake/distributer, headers and y-pipe. Recaro seats, special MSE rims, polyurethane bushings, oversized sway-bars, MSE steering wheel, MSE sound system and Koni suspension. I purchased this car from the second owner. It has been in storage since 2003, and has always been garaged prior to that. I recently pulled it out of storage and have been driving it on nice days. This car handles like it is on rails. Runs great, sounds great, looks awesome. This car deserves the attention it gets! People are constantly checking it out at stop lights or the gas station. I have never seen another one in person. This car is fairly original with the typical evidence of 30 years on the road. The front spoiler is no longer on the car, decals are not on the center caps (comes with new NOS decals), console door needs replaced, there is a small dent on the passenger rocker panel below the door, etc. See the pictures, ask questions, car is available for viewing in person.
