Vehicle Detail
1988 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer II that I began improving back in December, last year. I've taken an overseas job offer, though, and I'd rather see this GREAT RUNNING 2.9 liter V6 vehicle go to somebody who can take it on and finish it up. I really mean it when I say "great running." It's only got 116,300-odd miles on it and it pulls strong, idles rock solid, and drives smoothly. I'd drive this vehicle anywhere, and it cruises easily at 70mph and better. Additionally, the sunroof doesn't leak. I've got every receipt and record of what I've had done to it since I bought it (a very thick Pendaflex binder) and a clean, green Michigan title. I even have the original purchase paperwork from the Ford dealer that sold the vehicle, INCLUDING WINDOW STICKER, receipts, and the owners manual and all other documents and two sets of keys plus original FoMoCo key blanks if you want them. Here's a partial list of what I've had put on and had done to it, so far: -- NEW RADIATOR CORE SUPPORT WITH NEW BRACKETS AND MOUNTS (Core support from LMC Truck, brackets from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard). Painted in the original scarlet red. That was a $1,200 job, in total. -- New Uniroyal P205-75R 15s. Less than 1,000 miles on them. -- New Monroe Sensa-Trac Shocks. Also less than 1,000 miles. -- New Front coil springs. Also less than 1,000 miles. -- New John R Leaf Springs, just installed March 26, 2012, with new U-bolts and a few other small bits. -- Two (2) sets of Ford original equipment aluminum wheels, with new lugs and new locking lug nuts, too. The clean set's on the vehicle while the back-up set is off. You can have both. -- New brake lines from the master cylinder all the way back. December 2011. -- New emergency brake cables. December 2011. -- All new Sylvania exterior bulbs and new Sylvania headlights. February 2012. -- Ford "new old stock" (NOS) rear tail lights. Put on brand new (I have the Ford boxes they came in, plus the receipts), February 2012 -- Ford "new old stock" (NOS) front turn signal lights. Receipts, etc. February 2012 -- One Ford NOS (left side) side marker light. Still in box. -- New Ford NOS exterior door handles. Still in boxes. -- New pair of Ford NOS exterior mirrors (LH and RH) with brackets. Put on, February 2012. I have the Ford boxes. -- New front bumper air dam. Put on April, 2012. -- New weatherstripping all around. RH door is finished, including the beltline sweeps, and so is the rear hatch stripping. I have the LH door kit and beltline sweeps. -- New rear hatch lift support struts (the rear window wiper and washer still work, as does the rear window defogger). -- New (from LMC Truck) sun visors for the '84-'88 Bronco IIs. Those are off the truck. I've got NOS '99 Ford Explorer lighted sun visors in Medium Prairie Tan already in it. You only need to run wiring to a add-a-circuits on the fuse block (I've got all that, too), and you've got lighted visors that look great already. -- Full oil, filter, lube, transmission, anti-freeze service done. Used Pennzoil High Mileage oil and Lucas service for the T-fluid. That was done in late February and the vehicle's only had 700 or so miles put on it since. -- New rear ABS Module. It didn't need changing and the ABS was working fine, but I found a Ford NOS unit online so I snapped it up. -- New turn signal switch. -- New windshield washer switch with stalk. Intermittent. Looks great. Steering column cowl pieces are off, but I have them both (though I couldn't get around to re-painting them). -- Once I got the carpet out I had to use Bondo Gold to patch up some floorpan holing that had been present, but everything's rock solid and there are no more holes in the floorpans anywhere. The truck could use a new bracket for the original Eddie Bauer driver's set, though. It's held down by two bolts. -- BRAND NEW INTERIOR CARPET KIT IN DARK BUCKSKIN. From Stock Interiors. The old carpet is ripped out (I have it so you can use it as the template for cutting in the holes in the new kit...it originally smelled like a 20-year-long kegger in there ;-), as is most of the interior trim. I have all of it, with half of that already re-colored in Medium Prairie Tan using SEM Color Coat paints and prep. I have all the SEM paint and prep chemicals, too, which I'm throwing in. -- The old dashpad is cracked, of course, but I even have a replacement (used but in almost perfect condition) dashpad that's ready to go. It also has the interior cowling with the Ford premium speakers. I have the ORIGINAL FORD AM/FM/CASSETTE RADIO, too (there an AM/FM/CD detachable face unit currently in it). -- I have a perfect condition '91-'94 center console from a Ford Explorer ready to go (the current console is still in it). I also have front seats from a '99 Ford Explorer Limited (power) that can be put in in place of the current front seats, PLUS the leather repair and recoloring kit (in Medium Prairie Tan) that I'm throwing in. -- Lots of FatMat sound deadener with the roller, plus Boom Mat liquid spray on sound deadener. -- The original headliner is out of the vehicle and it needs stiffening with fiberglass but it's serviceable and there. -- Replacement vent windows from a BII from Texas, meaning NO RUST or deformation. -- Three front fenders. One is new and e-coated (the LH) the other two are new and painted in lightish blue-type metallic and one's a LH with the other a RH. I've already did a very basic paint job and put the new e-coated RH fender on already, plus repainted the wheel housing, applied spray on undercoating/sound deadener to that. That looks new, as you can see from the photos. --There are two re-coated (Medium Prairie Tan) interior door panels from a '90 Ford Bronco II with the power window and power door lock switches and bezels for both sides to go with it. In fact, there are so many new or NOS or otherwise ready to go parts that they're too numerous to list. You need to see the truck to see what I'm describing. So, what needs work? Well, the I've treated much of the rust spotting on the exterior, and there are few if any dents or dings in the body panels at all, but that's going to need to be finished off. There's typical rusting in the back hatch area down near the left rear taillight, but I have a fabricated metal piece that can be put in. The entire vehicle could use a paint job, of course. Also, the exterior spare tire holder is old, though it's rock solid. That could use at least re-painting. It also needs a passenger seat belt seat and, really, it needs new seat belts all around. The driver's side is in, of course. The interior's rough, what's left of it, but like I said: I've got it all and half of it's already been repainted to like-new condition. I suggest coming to see the vehicle, getting in it and firing it up. It starts first time, every time (new battery cables are in and the battery's only a couple year's old). It idles nicely, the temperature stays nice and low and the power steering and power brakes work wonderfully, plus the exhaust system is more than fine (the muffler does bang up against the side of the new fuel tank's -- with new fuel sending unit and pump -- skid plate, and the vehicle is nearly 25 years old. It has the 4-speed OD automatic Ford A4LD transmission, and the manual-locking 4WD works excellent Buy it, finish it off (you can have every piece, new and used, that I have for it) and you'll have a relatively rare good-running Bronco II that'll be Cruise-eligible in just another year. Again: I WOULD DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANYWHERE, AND I DO RIGHT NOW. IT DRIVES GREAT, AND THAT'S NO BULL. CONTACT ME (include your phone number) AND THEN COME SEE IT. I HAVE DOZENS OF ADDITIONAL PHOTOS THAT I CAN SEND YOU. FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTION ABOUT IT THAT YOU'D LIKE. Power windows (right side works, left side needs the motor or gears replaced) Power door locks Rear window wiper/washer/defogger Air conditioning (needs a re-charge or a conversion to R134) Automatic transmission Manual 4x4 Cruise control (not operating) Tilt wheel Leather wrapped wheel (that's rough, though it's not torn up) CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS FOR A LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. I've invested over $3,000 (not including labor hours) into turning it into a daily driver. Give it a drive and you'll want it, because it really is a daily driver as is, not to mention a cool throwback to when Ford tried to make these some sort of "Mini-Bronco" (LOL!) REMEMBER: THIS TRUCK IS BEING SOLD "AS IS, WHERE IS." I make no warranty, implied or otherwise. I know that the vehicle runs fine and it's given me absolutely ZERO trouble, no smoke from the exhaust, NOTHING, since I've had it. I've put a lot into it to turn it into something that'll run for many more years (it ran nicely when I got it, but I did work on the driveability issues).
