Vehicle Detail
Hi, up for auction is a 1978 Volkswagen Beetle convertible. It is the Karmann edition. This car could make a great driver with a few things or it could be a great canidate for restoration. This car was stored for a while however it runs and drives. The exterior of the car is very straight and the paint shines well however it does have imperfections. There is some surface rust that is bubbling through near the convertible top area and the area beneath the seat where the battery is has some rust. The paint has some nicks and chips and surface rust however it is presentable enough for a daily driver. The convertible top needs new vinyl or canvas however the frame is all there as well as the window and window frame. All of the windows are in nice shape and they roll up and down. The interior is relatively nice for a daily driver however it could use a few things. The seats do not have any tears and the dash seems to be complete. All of the gauges work and the switches seem to work as well. The lights need a few bulbs as they musht have been removed at some point. The engine is the fuel injected model and runs well. It was rebuilt before it was stored. There is some paperwork that comes with it for that. The transmission engages well and the clutch operates smoothly. The car rides well while being driven and the brakes function well too. The battery is new. An owners manual is included as well. Overall, this car is quite complete and in good shape for it's age. It runs and drives and would be a great car for summer. The title is clean and non-op. Please feel free to ask questions and happy bidding! Thanks.
