Vehicle Detail

I had a Spider in the early '80's that was a blast, so I bought this car 5 years ago as a fun run-about to re-live my younger days. I just bought another car and need to clear the garage spot for it. I've driven the Spider less than 1000 miles total since I bought it, typically on short drives within about a few miles from home. This is a fun car in pretty decent shape. I love driving it. With a few little issues addressed, you can have a great ride that looks great from 20 feet away! Or spend a little money on paintwork and have a real looker. I'm going to try to present the car for what it is, not some over-inflated, glitzy ad. I did not even wash the car before taking the pictures.... When cold, the engine will typically start on the third crank. I sometimes need to wait a bit and try again. After a minute of warm-up it will settle into a fairly smooth idle. I have not driven it outside of my neighborhood in the last year because it stalled a couple of times last spring. Though I was never stranded, I got spooked and have not ventured far from home since. I assume a proper tune-up will take care of the problem. This is a carburated engine. I start it and run it for 5-10 minutes on a regular basis. It will also run hot after 10-15 minutes on the road. I bought and installed a used radiator, but that didn't seem to solve the problem. I bought a new (used) water pump but have not installed it. I'm including the original radiator and the water pump with the car, as well as a Brooklands shop manual and a passenger side rocker panel chrome trim strip. The 5-speed manual works smoothly with no issues. All lights and turn signals work. The wipers work but are pretty slow. All gauges work – fuel, speedo, tach, temp & clock. The radio and radiator fan stopped working last spring (fyi- the car ran warm before this happened). Perhaps it is just a fuse, but I didn't find it. The radio is a JVC CD with removable faceplate. There is a remote control for it in the glove box that is still in the plastic wrap. The top looks like new with no tears or holes. I assume it was installed shortly before I bought the car. The car has spent all 5 years in my garage, almost always with the top down. The seats are in great shape other than an 8" split in the seam of the drivers bottom cushion (see pic). The dash is great without any splits or cracks. The paint looks pretty rough unless you're standing 20 feet away. Rust is modest, but certainly exists. I've tried to show all in pictures. The driver’s door needs a pretty good slam to latch. The manual windows work. The handles/locks for the vent windows are in the glove box if you want to glue them on. I simply flipped them open/closed by hand. I also have the metal ring for the bottom of the shifter boot. It is a little tricky to install and I gave up and put it back in the glove box. The car has 13" Chromodora Wheels with fair condition bargain brand tires. Three wheels plus the spare are stamped Chromodora. The left rear is stamped Speedline but looks just the same as the others. Again, see the pics. The car is located in Cincinnati. I suggest that, unless you live locally, you should have this car trucked to your home. It may well make any journey, but I'd be nervous about overheating. This Fiat is being put up with no reserve and a very modest starting price, as I need the garage spot. Please note that I have perfect feedback over my 10 years on eBay, so bid with confidence. If you cannot see something in the pictures, let me know and I will try to answer any questions you have.
