Vehicle Detail
2001 Mazda MPV Nice condition in and out. Looks and runs good. 3rd row seating. Only a 2.5L engine so its good on gas. Seats 7 passengers comfortably. Exterior has its typical scratches and dings as do all cars but no dents.. Inside is very clean with Leather seats that are like new except for the front passenger seat which is a little worn but not terrible at all. AC blows ice cold and has rear vents to keep the passengers cool. Automatic, power door locks, power windows which include the rear sliding door windows which also go down like a regular car and this is great so that air can get to the passengers in the back. Rear windows are factory tinted which helps keep the van cool and sun out of the kids eyes. Power mirrors, cd player, luggage rack on top to haul luggage or whatever, rear seat folds into the floor which you can see in the picture for hauling large items and the middle row is two bucket seats which each remove in less than 10 seconds " very easy" in case you need to haul an even bigger item. Tow package included on the back for hauling a boat or another car with a dolly. All Factory floor carpets included which cover the entire floor carpet even in the trunk area. Newly inspected. 204k highway miles. Now the history on the van. We bought this van last may for $3,100 plus tags, tax, title another $300. Interior was dirty so had the entire car professionally detailed $150. Factory rims scuffed up and corroded so purchased a set of 4 factory rims used but in like new condition another $400. Was missing the radio so i purchased a factory cd player $150 Front passenger window motor $100. Full tune up including spark plugs, wires, ignition coil, and air filter $350. Front brake pads and rotors $300. Did all the necessary mechanical repairs and cosmetic upgrades to get the van looking and running in tip top shape. So at this point I had $4,850 in on the van. then in December the van started running rough $200 worth of diagnostics later turned out to be the engine was shot. So with $5,050 in on the van i was deciding on whether or not to put more money into it or just scrap it. Talked myself into replacing the engine. Found one with 89,000 miles on it and had it put in with another complete tune up minus the ignition coil. Another $1,500. While putting the next engine in the mechanic cracked the egr pipe and tried to fix it with a rubber hose and claimed it was already cracked but I know it wasnt. Rubber hose recently failed so had to order the pipe from the dealer. That pipe was $150 at the dealer. When i got the van back from the mechanic it was leaking anti-freeze. Mechanic told me it was a bad seal somewhere. I looked into it the best I could and here it turned out it was just a hose that he didnt clamp back on when replacing the engine. All in all the van has drove decent its not perfect but i drove it everyday including back and forth to work the past few months. Recently a family member sold us a van for cheap with less miles on it and my wife really wanted to keep it so the MPV has to go. We have over $6,700 in this van and are just trying to get back some of the money we have in it. The van isnt perfect but but we've put so much money into it and refuse to put a cent more. So the next owner has a huge head start on any repairs or future repairs it may need. Does need a front motor mount, $40 on Ebay. Only real mechanical flaw i can say it has is when your driving especially at higher speeds if your coasting it shakes a little but if you give it gas it feels smooth. Not sure if its a dirty fuel injector or fuel filter or air leak. Dont know and dont care but its a minor issue that i wanted to mention. Feel free to come and take it for a test drive. Bring a dad or brother or uncle or mechanic if you would like I have nothing to hide here. Drove it the whole way up until this past tuesday when the registration expired. It is still insured so you can test drive it. We've only put 6,000 miles on it since we bought it and that was also because it sat for a couple months until we replaced the engine. Ive tried to list any and everything I could think of. I love the look of the MPV and its definitely my favorite minivan but this one just gave me such a headache it has to go. I reserve the right to end auction early as I also have this van listed for sale locally. Thank you.
