Up for auction is a very nice 1974 VW Super Beetle. It runs and drives great! The motor was replaced in 2006 and it cranks right up and runs well. The manual transmission has a brand new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing and it shifts like it should. The brakes work excellent. The body is in very good condition, even underneath. I can't find any signs of serious rust other than just normal, very mild surface rust underneath. The paint looks excellent but there are a few places where the paint has either peeled off, or is starting to crack or bubble. I have included closeup pictures of these spots. They could be fixed very easily. There doesn't seem to be any rust behind the spots, just paint chipping off. The interior is in very good condition. No tears in the seats, front or back. Both front seats fold forward like they should. Everything on the car seems to work as it should. It has a brand new blinker switch in the column, new steering linkage (replaced due to slack-steering is tight now), new rear brake light/blinker housings and lenses, new speedometer cable (speedo works but for some reason the odometer does not), and new chrome exhaust tips. Again, the car looks great and drives great. Everything works including the interior light. This would make someone a good driver. Turns heads wherever it goes!!
