Vehicle Detail

1971 Volvo P1800e Restoration Project.. I had purchased this car last year, to be used to develope our Swedish Ops Products, which include direct bolt in Crossmember/Suspension Kit, Rear Coil Over Conversion Kits/High Performance Replace Rear End Kits, Replacement Adjustable Aluminum Rear Trailing Arms/Panhard Bar kits, Direct Bolt In Performance Aluminum Radiator Kits, General Motors LS V8 Conversion Kits, Flush Mount Windshield/Back Glass Kits, etc, etc. I have several of these cars, and only needed them for product developement. I bought this car out of Texas last year, and here is the story. The car had been sitting for a number of years, and was waiting for a restoration. The owner used it for some sort of racing, but had parked the car with the intentions of retiring it from racing, and instead wanted to bring the car back to original.. There has been a few front sheetmetal repairs/patch ups, over the years, but the repairs were not the greatest, because it wasnt necessary to do a nice job when it may just happen again You can also see the lower rockers are dented in a few places, and that was also from the race history.. It has been Lowered, The Rear End Assembly has been braced (Looks like a Hefty Custom Job), Rear Sway Bar Added, Exhaust Header, Weber Carb Conversion, Cammed engine (Not sure of any other Mods), Electric Cooling Fans, etc.. The car will run, as you can see in the YouTube video link below, and it holds great Oil Pressure. I didnt run the car off the fuel tank, because I didnt want to run it off the old gas, so I tied the fuel pump into a portable gas can and never ran it off the fuel in the tank. I dont see any issues with the fuel tank, and believe it would only need to be flushed out, and maybe preventative coated. The AC is completely intact, and was said to work when the car was parked, and I really dont have a reason to doubt that.. The brake hydraulics appear to be pressured up, and not leaking, but I am sure it could use new Brake Hoses from sitting.. All the glass is in great shape, but obviously need new weatherstrip.. The window regulators work fine, so the windows roll up and down great. It is an Overdrive Car, but I obviously cannot tell you if it engages, although I do believe they are very reliable in general. Here is the Bad about the car.... It doese have a bit of rust on the common areas, like the Battery Box, Passenger Floor Board, Drivers Side Jack Support Brace, The Lower Windshield Area (and this is what our Flush Mount Glass Kits will eliminate, because the problematic and leaky Window Seals are not used anymore, because we Glue in using moder urethanes), there is minimal rust in the trunk area, and the back pan and trunk floor seems pretty solid. The repairs on the Front Fenders were patch welded, and only done so it could be on the track again.. I see NO body structure issue in the core support, unibody frame structure, etc, it only seems to be the actual fender sheet metal. I did try to move the car, after I got it started, but I think the Clutch Disc is actually corroded/bonded to the Flywheel.. The Clutch pedal works, but even when you push it to the floor, it does not release enough to get it in gear..The car has started in gear, and it appears all the gears are there, so I really dont think there is any issue with the transmission either, it really appears this is just from sitting for several years. I have had this situation before with other cars that have sat for some time, sometimes they will break loose, but most of the time you need atleast replace the clutch disc, and surface the flywheel. The interior is actually in pretty good shape, and may only need a freshen up with a few items, because the carpet makes it look worse than it is.. The guages appear to work, and are very clear, with nice unfaded faces. The car has its plus's and minus's, and does deserve a restoration.. Most of the rust can obviously be repaired, and is very common for these cars, but that is depending on the buyers capability of repairs. The previous owner collected extra parts as he found them, and as you can see in the pics below, there are alot of parts that go with the car.. There is a complete crankshaft and Connecting Rods, that appear to have been machined and waiting. There are also extra Distributors, louvered Valve Cover, Power brake Booster, Mirrors, along with other random parts.. I did not take an inventory of the parts in the boxes, but you can see the bulk of it in the pictures. Please review the YouTube Video below.. I do have the car running in the video, along with a walk around, but they car does need a tuning up. I am sure the carb has to be gone through, along with plugs, wires, oil change, etc.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yhet3mjbK_E&feature=youtu.be If you have any question, please feel free to contact me at Iamtheonlyreal1@yahoo.com I will be happy to supply any additional information or pics you may need. I go out of my way to represent the vehicles I have sold online, and would like to ensure you have all the info you could possible need for an educated decision. Please review my feedback on the hobby cars I have sold on Ebay over the last couple of years, and you will see the auction winners were satisfied with their purchase, and that is very hard to do with vehicles. For the guys asking about the Volvo Crossmember/Suspension Kits, here are a few pictures of what I am talking about.. These pics are of the P1800/122 Amazon, and the PV's are in production at this time. They are using the same components and basic crossmember, but the mounting plates are just a bit different.. I will have some upcoming information on them before too long. Just figured posting these pictures would answer the number of calls and emails I have been getting about information.. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/suspension/IMG_1233.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/Rear%20Axle%20and%20Suspension/020-3.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/Rear%20Axle%20and%20Suspension/017-3.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/Rear%20Axle%20and%20Suspension/015-2.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/Rear%20Axle%20and%20Suspension/010-2.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/Rear%20Axle%20and%20Suspension/001-2.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll255/Iamtheonlyreal1/Rear%20Axle%20and%20Suspension/018-2.jpg Our Catalog will offer General Motor LS V8 conversion kits from bolt on Suspension (Front and Rear), Firewall Kits, Bolt On High Performance Aluminum Radiators, Air Conditioning Kits, Flush Mount Glass Kits, Engine Transmission Packages, etc, etc..
