I bought this car last winter and fell in love with it. There was about a foot of snow surrounding the car and I could see there was a big hole on the drivers floor board and thought that was ok it could be repaired. The body looked in pretty good shape. I went back this spring to pick up the car and as I loaded it onto the trailer, I got a first hand look at the unibody (without the snow around the car) and it was bad. The perimeter of the unibody that sat on the ground is bad. I am a novice at body work. I could re-sheet the floorboard but when it comes to framework I'm not very comfortable. I don't want to ruin this rare car and experiment on it so I thought someone with more expertise could bring it back to life. I can't bring myself to part it out either. The upper body parts are in very good shape. The drivers door has a rust hole on the lower right hand corner. The other doors are decent. I hooked jumper cables to the battery cables and one directional worked. I turned the radio on and heard the pop on the dash speaker but could not change stations. I didn't try to turn the knob all the way from one end to the other for fear of breaking it. The vanity mirror in the glove compartment is still there, unbroken, but the glue doesn't hold anymore. The seats are surprisingly in good condition. I could not get the rear window to go down. I have the keys for it. I also could not get the roof to open. The engine, I was told, was a Studebaker 259 V-8. The engine is tight. There is also another set of hubcaps that will go with the car. The car is sold as is with no warranty or title.
