Shows the vehicle and its equipment fully functional. (Just a note for those looking at the distortion in the photos of the red paint. We are not sure why this happens on our hosting site but all "shiny red" surfaces look watery or distorted. You may be able to see in the close up pictures below that the paint on this red car is seriously near flawless. The distortion you may see is not on this car but due to the Vendio picture hosting site. If you are a serious buyer and want a few jpeg pictures emailed to you for your detailed inspection, please let us know.) 1967 Austin Mini Mk I VIN: A-A2S7L-858538A Odometer currently reads: 152 (exempt) Engine: 1.3 Liter 4 cylinder Transmission: 4-Speed Manual Transaxle Exterior: Red Interior: Black/Red Standard Equipment 1.3 Liter In-Line 4 Cylinder 40 DCOE Weber Side Draft Carburetor Alloy Intake Manifold Performance Header Exhaust System Polished Aluminum Cam/Rocker Cover Oil Cooler/Remote Filter with Braided Steel Lines Coventry/Englewood Radiator 4-Speed Manual Transaxle Rack and Pinion Steering MSC Front Disc Brakes Tilton Master Cylinder New Suspension, Front and Rear (cone) Hella 500 Series 6-Inch Driving Lights (4) Grant GT Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel (No Horn) AutoMeter 160 MPH Speedometer with Trip Odometer, 8,000 RPM Tachometer, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature and Water Temperature Gauges Custom Padded Black Dash Panel Pushbutton Start Covered Switchgear Race Craft Roll Bar with Removable Bar Pyrotect Racing Harnesses Corbeau BAJA SS Racing Seats Carpeted Floor with Mini Mats Black Fiberglass Fender Flares Welded Front Clip & Removable Hood Powder Coated Front & Rear Subframes Power Antenna Pioneer DEH-6413T Stereo CD/SAT/MP3/Ipod/USB (overhead mount) Left 9 Gallon Fuel Tank (No Fuel Gauge) Lift-Off Hood Sliding Front Side Windows Pop-Out Rear Side Windows Cosmic 6 x 10 Wheels Yokohama A-008 Steel Belted Radials 165/70R10 Fresh Weather-stripping New Shocks, Front and Rear Here it is. I go to a classic car auction one day and I see the most incredible Mini I have ever seen. This Mini is not your average heap put together in a weekend garage. The paint is an obvious high dollar finish. the black metal trim everywhere looks like its been powdercoated. The rubber, felt and soft items, interior seats, carpet and finish work looked all new and very well thought out. Little things everywhere you look, sharp, finished and an obvious professional high end quality. Not just a surface quality but more than skin deep. The sheet metal was not a Bondo job or a just bucket that had been patch everywhere you look. The car obviously started out life as a very nice original and someone spent some serious bank making this Mini a show piece the could be put into a serious collection and on the track on weekends. SO there I am at the auction and I am not going to pass up this needle in the haystack. Now I own the coolest Mini I've ever seen. Not just that but I drive it home 40 miles away and nearly cause accidents on the freeway with rubber neckers and new fans. From truck drivers, to kids of all ages, to grandmas and even gang bangers; thumbs up from them all. You cannot drive down the road without smiles and fans. Now the car is mine and I want it even better. (I do that with all my cars) So, I take it to my performance speed shop and we nail down some items to make this little hot rod even more fun and safer too. Brakes, suspension and steering needed just a bit more so we spent the dime. It needed a stereo so we did that too. We wanted to know how fast we were going so we installed a forgotten speedo cable. The only problem there was that at a 100mph on the speedo, you're only traveling at about 75mph so taking the car up to 130mph was @#$%^ exciting! Do the math!!! This Mini was built for speeds in excess of 100mph for real. But you better wear the belts and hold on. You know you are going that fast and everyone else on the road is loosing their cookies in awestruck amazement. So the picture above. I posted this car on eBay last week and the previous owner sent me an email letting me know that he had pictures, documents and receipts for the restoration and confirmed with me that the expense was no small figure. Obviously the owner did not want a turd sitting with his other high end cars. As the story goes and I have the story from the owner, the car was built so the owner could convince his wife to go play with him on track days racing. Turns out the wife didn't agree with the husbands good intentions and the surprise went unappreciated. (Purses and shoes, dude, come on! We all know what works with the ladies) The car sat in the collection for a few years until it was sold in a package deal to a buyer with a bundle of cash. The owner thinks that's the guy I got the car from. I really don't know and it doesn't matter to me but this guy matters. The car was also named "Cooper" after the grandson. Hum, how convenient. We have a picture of him too but we didn't think it would be appropriate to post it. The previous owner will forward on the docs to me or to the new owner if you like. Ready to Own?
