Everything specific thing that has long made an original 'Cuda 340 so desirable has been made better, stronger, faster, wider, shinier and more reliable for modern, high-end hot-rodding . . . this thing is fast, fast, FAST! Door/lock hardware and window function are superb. . . . 340 block stroked to 408 cubic inches with Edelbrock aluminum heads, Air-Gap intake manifold, Holley 750 and long tube headers. An engine this potent would destroy a normal transmission but the TCI Super Streetfighter automatic withstands everything this screaming 408 can dish out. The strong 8.75 inch axle lays the power down through wide 275/60 Radial T/As. Engine starts immediately and has unmistakable Mopar rumble. New for 1972 were these beautiful turn signal/park lights that look for all the world like fog lamps. Check out that gorgeous lower pan, bumper and trim fit and how clean and new it looks behind the grille. On top we see the hood scoops and underneath, those long tube headers are particularly menacing. TCI Super Streetfighter transmission cost over $1,400 and is basically bullet-proof. Spectacular Tor-Red paint has the tiniest hint of pearl and almost imperceptible metal-flake; you'll not find even a suggestion of orange peel. All exterior trim is either shiny new or original-condition-awesome. Nothing on the car looks faded, cloudy or old. This 408 has massive torque and feels more like a big block. Stance is spot-on and panel fit is superb. The vinyl top looks practically new and door, hood and trunk lid function is great. Steering and suspension are a little better than these were new. This one has no shake or shimmy. Through-valance exhaust and tail light panel black-out was part of the 'Cuda 340 deal. The extra wide wheels and rear wing give this 'Cuda unmistakable muscle. A look down the side shows just how smooth the metal is. (paint is awesome everywhere - photo file compression produces artifacts that can be seen near the edges of darker colors) Rear bumper and trim are knockout and we can see the Dynomax mufflers behind the headers. (paint is awesome everywhere - photo file compression produces artifacts that can be seen near the edges of darker colors) Another smooth and beautiful look down the side with paint so shiny we can see the clouds. (paint is awesome everywhere - photo file compression produces artifacts that can be seen near the edges of darker colors) Barracuda production was always a lot less than its Challenger counterpart. What is often overlooked is the Barracuda rode on a 2-inch shorter wheelbase and overall length was nearly 5-inches shorter. These sporty dimensions give the 'Cuda a look all its own. (paint is awesome everywhere - photo file compression produces artifacts that can be seen near the edges of darker colors) New door sill aluminum, new weather-stripping and great glass give this 'Cuda a new car look and feel. "Tuft" steering wheel feels great and the seats don't bottom out. Lots of new parts in here and nary a rip, tear or crack to be found. Carpet, dash, upholstery, headliner all look terrific. (am/fm radio doesn't work - big deal; you were going to replace it anyway) 408 Cubic Inches Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake manifold, Holley 750, long tube headers and Mopar Performance black/aluminum air cleaner and valve covers. Everything is new or near new and all is clean and dry. (Previous owner claims 460 horsepower and while we don't know for sure, we suspect it will be the fastest Plymouth you've ever driven . . . or fastest anything for that matter.) Restored undercarriage looks perfectly awesome with headers and chrome TCI transmission pan. Rebuilt suspension and steering gives secure feel behind the wheel. Pretty cool how the center tie-rod threads through the headers. Dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers and crossover. Dynomax mufflers sound Dyn-o-mite. New rubber plugs and pretty fuel lines look great against beautiful metal.
