Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1970 Pontiac GTO, real 242 vin code. It's an original 400, muncie 4 speed car with a 12 bolt rear end with heavy duty suspension (boxed control arms and bigger swaybars). Included with the car is every 70 GTO part I've collected over the last twenty years. I had intensions on doing a complete body off restoration. But my divorce put a hault on those plans. The car had a body on restoration back in the late eighties. There was some rust repair done at that time. It was originally gold in color (code 58), is now a 1989 corvette silver color. The car was driven only in the summers after that and was put up in the late nineties. Its been stored inside every since. The front suspension is newly rebuilt with PSI poly bushings and all new shocks, springs, ball joints (complete rebuild kit), new front brakes. The car runs and drives down the road fine. It needs third gear sincros (new sincro clusters included) replaced in the transmission so it goes into third gear hard sometimes, and the rear bumper was removed to be replaced with a re-cromed bumper that is included. The engine was rebuilt before I got the car in 86. Its the original 400 block bored 30 over with forged flat tops, high lift hydrualic cam, Edelbrock Performer intake with Hlley 600 carb, 3 tube headman headers. It has 1968 #16 heads on it, but a set of dated coded #12 rebuildable heads with all original hardware are included. I have a dated coded factory intake with correct date coded carb included. I have the original dual snorkle air cleaner, exhausted manifolds with heat shield that also come with the car. The interior is black and is out of a 1971 455 HO car I parted out on the late eighties (no parts left). It originally was a gold car (coded 58) with off white interior and a bench seat with a 4 speed on the floor. The interior is in pretty nice shape with no major rips tears or anything bad. The carpet is coming loose on the passenger side door panel. I have new 70 PUI black front door panels and some new rears (dark green but can dye). There was a new headliner installed when painted, but there is a small hole, a new one is included. Theres a crome interior screw kit inluded, new arm rest bases, new window felts inside and out, new carpet sill plates, a new PUI black package tray. Other new parts that are inclued are a pair of quality rear quarter panel skins, a pair of front quarter lower patches. A NOS front pair and nice used rear pair of wheel wheel trim. Theres new quarter glass trim with new seals, a new door, trunk and hood seal kit included. I have a mostly complete reproduction ram air III or IV system! New rebuild kit for the 12 bolt rear end, new 373 gears, new Auburn posi unit, all bearings, etc. Theres new springs and shocks for the rear too! Theres a reproduction hood tach! Theres more I cant remember too! Theres tons of used parts included too! Wirings harnesses, ralley guage clusters, trim, lights, original am radio, original shifter, the original 14 x 6 inch rally 2 wheels with caps, etc. There is some rust in the trunk pan and in the rear floor pan and brace area. Thats just about the only parts I didn't buy. I was planning on using the Goodmark brand floor and truck panels. There is just about everything you need to complete this car included in the sale. All the hard work is done - finding and collecting all the parts to restore it back to orginal. It will need a rear poly bushing suspension kit installed, and a good line up job on the front suspension. Come and see the car during the auction if you live locally. Easy off I-75, just north of Flint! I have lots of other pontiac parts avaliable separately! 400s, 455s, muncie rock crucher trans, pontiac blowproof bell housing, a-body tubular welded controls arms, adjustable upper control arms, lakewood traction bars, weld prostar wheels.
