Vehicle Detail

This is what a Little Red Express wants to be when it grows up. Born in Canada and sold new in Roswell Georgia, this is a classic example of a Dodge work/farm truck. It's a 4 speed with #1 gear being a granny gear which is pushed by a rebuilt LA (1976) 318 engine. I purchased this truck around 2008 to use as a service/parts truck for my business (Norfolk VA) and mechanically restored the truck that year. It's got 2008 floor pans, NEW OEM fabric on the front seat and YES it matches the orginal fabric the seat, which was $$$$$$. I put new wood (a kit, ash) in the 8' bed, new brakes, shocks, a rebuilt 1976 318, clutch, rubber floor mat, battery tray, etc and drove it up until a month ago. Normal driving, this truck gets 12MPG but will probaby get 14-15 on the highway. You can drive it any where because it runs great with a 4b carter carb. It's got a few chrysler typical issues like, sometimes you have to wiggle a wire to get the Alt to charge, or tap a headlight to get it to pop on, or help push the window down, or a fix small cab leak someplace.... If you grew up in the 70's, you will know what I'm talking about. It starts right up if you run it everyday, but after about 3 days, you have to pump the gas and turn it over until the gas gets back up to the carb. It pulls to the left a little, a very little I'd say, but it might be I'm just use to it, but the tires seem to be wearing evenly, and have about 25k of tread tread left. The brakes are great! and the clutch is good too although putting it in 2 or R is tricky, unless you know how to do it. The gas 20gal tank was replaced also in 2008 and I have a spare that goes with the truck. Oh, the horn doesn't work most of the time, but most folks get out of my way anyway because they think I have no brakes... As you guessed, I love this old truck but the excitement is gone and now it's like we been married 25 years, so it's time for her to go to someone that will charish her.. Oh, had a new exhaust system ($450) about a year ago and added a NEW cat converter. I know, why? Well I wanted to keep her as original as I could without going crazy. It was a modest restore of around $5K and I've put 30,000 miles on it and loved driving it! The paint is original Mint Green Irid. got questions, just ask. YES, she got small areas of rust but not bad... You can see the spots in the pictures. Oh, it's got no radio, which I think is great, BUT it's got powersteering which I think might be the only option. Oh, also it's got helper spring shocks. Other things: It leaks very little oil, drivers window is hard to roll down, I don't know about the miles on odometer but my guess is it's right, and the a mechanical lifter taps every now and again. This is not a show pc by far, but if you want a old dodge truck in good shape, this is the ticket. On Apr-29-12 at 06:42:07 PDT, seller added the following information: just drove this truck the other day and forgot to add that the brakes had all been replaced a few year back, including the master cylinder. Since they are manual brakes They don't fade or anything like that and the pedal is plenty high and solid but I do pump them once when coming to a stop. Sorry forgot to put that in the original discription.
