For your consideration is a 1961 Volkswagen Beetle convertible project. Has air ride up front (compressor mounted under gas tank next to master cylinder and tank in front trunk) and sits on white smoothie wheels. it is nearly complete- Has top frame but no canvas or headliner. This is a great candidate to start a restoration or to enjoy as is-I bought it to enjoy as-is on sunny days. Feel free to ask questions- I will do my best to answer what I can. Bear in mind that this is a 51 year old car- please remember that before asking silly questions. Again, this is a project being sold as is, where is. If you are looking for a complete, perfect pre ’64 convertible, look elsewhere (and dig deep into your wallet). I have all glass (including convertible top rear glass) front door glass/regulators are included but not installed. No windshield wipers or motor. Does have the original goodies like Sapphire I radio and the snowflake taillights...parking e-brake works. Runs, drives and stops great- 12v conversion performed. Carpet, seats and cards in great shape. It is currently registered here in WA state and tabs expire in 1/2013. Car is obviously eligible for collector plates but haven’t changed over yet. Title is clear and in my name so no BS at the DMV. Sweet aircooled goodness that will be worth more than double my asking "buy it now" price when she is complete. Has the OE 16xx engine that starts right up and runs smooth. Car came from dry Nevada but does show some signs of rust underneath battery and at right rear jack point but nothing too bad- have some extra spares to go along with the sale. It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange transportation. I will help where I can, how I can.
