Vehicle Detail
This is a very special Boss 351,because it's first original owner in October, 1970 was the Ford Scientific Research Lab in Dearborn, MI. This Boss351 with only 34,219 original and documented miles runs and drives excellent and is very strong. It's a vehicle you can drive or show with confidence and due to it's rarity, is sure to appreciate in the future. 1 of approximatly 600 Boss 351 Mustangs known to exist This Boss has it's "born with" numbers wide-ratio Toploader 4-speed transmission 3.91 geared Traction-Lok rear axle rotisserie restored power steering, AM radio, the Sport Deck rear seat Documentation includes: Lois Eminger Report, Internal Ford invoice,Marti Report, original sales paperwork from it's first private byer in 1972. HISTORY OF BOSS 351 MUSTANG This is a very rare Boss 351 mustang. Only 1806 Boss Mustangs were produced by Ford in 1971. and only 591 of those are known to exist today. The Boss 351 Mustang was perhaps the most balanced, all-around best performing Boss' Ford ever made, capable of 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 14.1 seconds at 100.6 mph. What made it all possible was the specially developed 351 Cleveland small block engine. This engine developed 330 HP and 370 lbs ft of torque using very high 11.3-to-1 compression ratio forged pistons, a huge 750cfm Autolite 4-barrel carburetor, the excellent, high-flowing Cleveland cylinder heads, forged and hardened internals and a nearly .500 lift camshaft with solid lifters. All the best stuff from Ford and the equipment that turned a regular Mustang into the renowned and very rare Boss 351. When you checked off the Boss 351 package block on your invoice back in 1971, you got the brutal 351 Boss engine, heavy duty, 4-speed Toploader transmission with Hurst shifter, a 3.91 geared Traction-Lok 9" rear end, dual "Ram Air" induction hood, power front disc brakes, an upgradeed "competition" suspension, full instrumentation, HD cooling package, dual mirrors, driving lights, high-back bucket seats, sport rims, and F60 Wide-O-Oval tires.
