We have for sale a 1974 VW Karmann Ghia. The car came in on trade at one of our stores recently. It is by no means a show car but is what I would call a driver and a good project car. It has a paint job that according to the previous owner is around 8 years old. There is a ton of metal flake in the paint. The paint job looks great from ten feet but upon close inspection there are some flaws here and there. To be more specific I found some cracks on the nose and one on the rear below the back window. Also there are some runs here and there and some evidence of body filler in spots. Don't get me wrong it's a sharp little car. I just don't want anyone to be expecting a show car. The interior looks nice with the exception of a cheap plastic dash pad cover. The original pad has several cracks. It has what looks to be the original wheels. They are in great shape. The tires also look to be deep in tread. We replaced the battery shortly after trading for the car. The shifter is an aftermarket. Also, the front floor pans have been patched. Not a great job either. Very amateur. The ignition switch must have some sort of issue because after turning the key you must also push a button mounted under the dash to start the car. The horn is also run through an added button under the opposite side of the dash. The car starts very easily and drives good. The brakes of course are manual and stop the car well but do pull to one side if applied hard. The choke works well but the carb does seem to have some issues as the car is a little tough to get going from a dead stop once it is warm. After you get rolling it seems alright. We will be selling the car as unknown miles as the odometer shows less miles now than when it was last transferred. It is of course a five digit odometer and we have no way of knowing how many times it may have turned over. The car is minus the bumpers and the drivers exterior mirror.
