Hello. I reluctantly need to sell my beloved BMW 540i. This has been the best car I've owned so far and has been a pleasure to drive. In my experience, the BMW tag line of "the ultimate driving machine" is absolutely correct for this car. The car has very low miles for it's year. It has 107,510 miles. When I bought it, it had just over 85,000 so I've been pretty easy on this car. It has always run fine for me and has never left me on the side of the road. Kelly Blue Book for this vehicle in 'Good' condition is $6993 and NADA 'Clean Retail' is $8975 as of the date of this listing. I am pricing it approximately 10% below KBB book value for a quick sale. Features: It has most of the goodies available for its year including the following: automatic transmission, ABS brakes, traction control, power steering, power windows, power seats, six disc CD changer, leather seats, sun roof and more. History: I have owned the car for the past 4 1/2 years. According to my recently run CARFAX report (available for prospective buyers), I am the second owner. It has been garaged nearly the entire time I've owned it. It passed the Oregon DEQ vehicle inspection just over a week ago, so you know it runs well and isn't a polluter. Also, if you wish to register this car in Oregon, it won't need a DEQ inspection for a few years as the certification comes with the car. I have repair and Oregon DMV records for the time I've owned the vehicle. Condition: The exterior and interior look great. The car is pretty, clean, and runs well. It's my 'daily driver,' even though I don't put many miles on it. There are a few minor signs of wear on the exterior with most being very minor scratches. There are a few larger scratches at the bottom of the rear bumper area. Those should be visible in the photos. The AC is not blowing cold. There is very minor leakage of power steering fluid and oil. The radiator hoses were replaced shortly after getting the vehicle and the radiator itself was replaced about a year ago. The tires are Goodyear Eagles (all weather) which were also purchased shortly after getting the car and they still have good tread. Last fall, the rear brakes were serviced, and valve cover gaskets were replaced along with the coolant expansion tank. The dash lights work, but on occasion, some of the pixels are missing on some of the digital readouts. This can be seen in one of the photos ... sometimes it appears normal and other times it does not. A bit of research on this led me to find that this may come from connectors getting dirty over time. As I'm not a mechanic, I never tried to repair it and it never bothered me enough to pay to have it done. Recently, the sunroof is sometimes difficult to fully close as a metal piece at the front does not drop enough to let the glass slide fully into place over it. This has to be manually done. I think is a sticky spring is the problem and I will try to 'WD-40' it. If that does the job, I will update the description to reflect this. The front aero skirt under the bumper has a crack in it that is visible. Unfortunately, that is not visible in my photos. I will try to update the listing with a photo to show that as soon as possible, although it is visible towards the end of my video listed below.
