Vehicle Detail
No Reserve! First bid win the truckRun and drive great. Fun to drive. Mostly in original condition. Hard to find in this condition. Model: Job Rated Clean title on hand. Currently it is registered in Oregon. Engine: 230 Flathead Inline 6 Cylinder Transmission: Fluid coupling-3-speed manual transmission Interior: Original seat with newer leather cover, nice door panel and carpet. New spark plugs, cup, wiring. Start every time even in the cold weather. Good tires All lights turn signal, heater, fan, windshield wiper are in working condition.Working spot light. Upgraded to alternator 12 volts I have a box of extra parts that will go with the truck to the new owner. (extra carb, brake parts and more) Could use new paint job. One side of the windshield glass is crack in the upper corner. Since it is flat it is easy to replace. Passenger door glass has some de-coloration on the lower part. Wood in the box could use refinishing and new paint. If you want an Original 1951 Dodge Truck that turns heads this is the truck for you. This truck has the option called "HyDrive" "Fluid Drive"which is a 3-speed manual unit and clutch with the fluid coupling. The truck do not change gears "automatically," but can be held stationary in any gear without disengaging the clutch. They can also be started in any gear without slipping the clutch. Fluid drive advantages are 1. The truck can be driven by declutching and shifting in the normal fashion, starting in 1st, shifting to 2nd, and then to 3rd. 2. Downshifts from 3rd to 2nd are greatly reduced. 3. In stop-and-go traffic, the truck may be left in 2nd gear with the driver starting and stopping merely by applying the foot brake and accelerator pedals, as is done in a car equipped with a modern automatic transmission. 4. Acceleration from 5 MPH up in 3rd gear is entirely acceptable under most level-road conditions. 5. Ascending moderately steep hills does not require downshifting. 6.Under light loads and relatively flat road conditions, the truck may be started from rest in 2nd gear with entirely satisfactory acceleration results and without putting any strain on driveline/clutch parts. 7. Starting on hills is greatly facilitated. The truck may be placed in 1st gear, the clutch engaged, and the truck held motionless by application of the foot brake only. When it is time to start, the driver merely steps on the accelerator. There is no need to coordinate the clutch/brake/accelerator with the inevitable engine over-revving and clutch slipping.8. Wear on clutch parts is greatly reduced because there is no need to "slip" the clutch for smooth starts from rest. I'm not a mechanic but if you have questions about the truck I will respond to your questions the best I can. Selling due to financial situation. Low reserve. Happy bidding!
