PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION This is a rare, HAND BUILT, 1988 Avanti II 1 of only 150 with the steering wheel signed by Mike Kelly, before selling the company late in the year. I am the 3rd owner and has been taken care of its whole life, covered and in a garage. The car is easily a 9.5 of out 10. It has a recent oil change (synthetic), oil filter, and new weather stripping, no leaks. The pictures denote the only flaws, a few rips in the leather, center console piece will need to be rewrapped THAT’S IT. Oh and the electrical switch on the moonroof needs to be rewired. All electrical is fully functional, but the mirror switch, door lock on the drivers door needs its contacts to be cleaned to function, I have the receipts from the previous owner for the paint job totaling over $4000 dollars! There is NO RUST on this car whatsoever as the pictures show you the frame. Extras included are Avanti magazines, A model car of the Avanti and performance rally wheels on the car, The original wheels will be in the car or I will mount them at the new owners request. Car is in PRESTINE CONDITION with the exception of what has been mentioned and will still be sold as is but in prestine condition. THE CAR IS a 9.5 out of 10! Mileage is only 51,900!! Kelly proclaimed that this move was needed to facilitate added models and production volumes. Kelly also managed to secure large grants from the city of Youngstown and state of Ohio totaling close to $1,000,000. Another major investor was a real estate developer named John J. "J. J." Cafaro. The Kelly Avantis sold well, but were not well accepted by the press. The first LSC Avantis were panned as having poor craftsmanship and lousy performance. Cafaro and Kelly had differing ideas on the direction of Avanti. Cafaro wanted to pursue the luxury market while Kelly wanted to return to Avanti's performance roots. Cafaro won out in the end mostly because of his financial resources. In September of 1988, Kelly sold his share of Avanti to John J. Cafaro. After reading the history pulled from that site, this car is one of the last produced BEFORE Mike Kelly sold it in 1988. Making it even more rare.
