I am selling some of my cars including this 1955 chevy pickup which I bought several years ago from Arizona. I am also selling a BMW M5 on Ebay and a 1940 Ford coupe not yet on Ebay. This truck has the large rear window, three speed transmission on the column, a foot starter and the original straight 6 cylinder engine. When I bought the truck the body was in good condition with no rust or dents and the wooden bed was in good shape. The engine was original and ran well but was not detailed. I had the engine taken out and gone over and since we had gone that far I sent it to Jasper engines and they rebuilt the engine. They have a 3 year and 100,000 mile warranty with their engines. There is probably less than 100 miles on it since the rebuild but the 3 year warranty is expired. On the negative side the gauges do not work or are not connected, I was going to replace them with new ones but never did. The hood springs do not hold up the hood completely and should be replaced with stronger ones. The truck runs good, it does not smoke and there are no leaks. I don't drive it very often but I got it out today and it started fine and I drove it around the neighborhood. I would consider this truck to be a B and with a little work could become an A. It is also a long bed which I like because you don't see as many of those as you do the short beds. I also replaced the transmission since the old one was geared so low it was not suited for todays roads. This truck is being sold as is where is but if you pick up the truck and decide you do not want it You do not have to pay for it. Buyer is responsible for local pick up or shipping. I am the third owner and will be happy to answer any questions that I can but I am not a mechanic I just like old cars. Please remember this is a 50 year old truck and it does not have power steering or disc brakes and the doors rattle when driving down the road. Please do not ask what the reserve price is and I do not have a buy it now price so don't ask. In starting I am having to had a small amount of gas to the carb then it starts right up I am thinking it might be the choke but I do not know. I t runs good after that and restarts easily. I am taking it to a mechanic today to check it out and will have it serviced while it is there also.On Mar-24-12 at 12:17:04 PDT, seller added the following information: truck is all serviced apparently I was flooding it when I started it.
