I purchased this 2000 Cherokee as a 3 year lease return from Island Jeep in May 2003 with 43,000 miles - It took me awhile to find this truck because I really wanted the Select Trac Transfer case matted to the Chrysler 8.25 rear axle - (it took 10 dealers and 1.5 months searching) I was really looking for a Classic trim level - So the dealer Swapped the Classic rims onto a Sport. The past four years I have only used it as a station car and tow a small boat (3500lbs) Since 2008, I have been driving on an average of about 3000-4000 miles per year. I change the oil myself every 6 months with FULL Synthetic 10w30 oil and Always a Purolator Pure One Filter. I have been using Full Synthetic Oil and a Pure One filter Since I purchased the Jeep in 2003. I am selling it because I received a 2004 Grand Cherokee as a Gift with 1/2 the mileage. Interior is in Good Shape - no tears or major stains - Clean. The Good: Brand New Water Pump ~ November 2011 Brand New Cat Back Exhaust ~November 2011 Brand New Starter ~ December 2011 ( Starts better Now then when I bought it) Air Filter Replaced in ~ Fall 2011 Spark plugs Replaced in ~ Spring 2011 New Battery ~ Spring 2011 New Head Lights ~ Spring 2010 Windshield Replaced ~ 3 years ago Radiator replaced ~ 2 years ago Drive Belt Replaced ~ 2 years ago Brakes resurfaced ~ 2009 Ignition Cylinder replaced ~ May 2009 The Bad: - Since I had the Water pump replaced in November 2011, The Cooling Fan comes on after about 10 minutes of driving. It doesn't happen every time. And of course when I brought it back to the Mech who installed the water pump it never happened again while there. and he had it for a few days. - Also when you stop the truck for 5min. ( to get gas, 7-11, etc) When you restart it you have to let it run for a Minute until the temp comes down... Also doesn't happen every time. I think this might be a Bad Thermostat. I have the parts to replace it. - There is a Moan / Noise coming from the rear of the truck when you drive it - I am Not sure what it is. It has been like this for 5-6 years now. It hasn't effected the driving at all, from towing a 3500lb to daily driving. - It will need atleast 2 new Tires in a year or So. The Front right was replaced in Spring 2011 - I also have a Brand New Matching off the rim tire that comes with it. - Jeep = Leak - There is a very slow Oil leak @ the bottom of the motor. It drips from the oil pan plug. It started about 5-6 years ago.and remains the same. - The A/C hasn't worked in 4-5 years - The rear Drivers side passenger window will not roll down . Hasn't Worked in 3 years - Front Stereo Speakers work when they want to - which isn't often. Haven't Worked in 3-4years The Ugly: I was in minor fender bender in 2005 - I was side swiped @ about 30mph by a large Dump truck with an illegal driver. They Fixed everything. It was Hit on the Drivers side - Front Quarter Panel and Diver's door were replaced. the rear passenger door and the hood were repaired. And All Painted. ~ In Sept. 2011 the paint on the Hood started to peel. ~ Front Passenger Side bumper Cap hit in 2010 - while parked - See picture ~ Rear Passenger Side bumper Cap aslso hit in 2010 - while parked - See picture I am an Honest seller - I have described my Jeep as best I can - It's a great truck - especially the Select Trac 4 wheel Drive - Towed my Boat like a champ - Time to pass her on.
