LOW RESERVE!! $1.00 Starting Bid!! 1993 Camaro Z28 LT1 5.7L V8, Auto Transmission I bought this car awhile back when I was considering getting back into some weekend drag-racing, but then I got a good deal on an old Miata, and decided to do SCCA autocross instead. Now I need to sell the Camaro to prep the Miata for this summer. This Camaro is in pretty good shape for its age. It is completely stock - doesn't even have an aftermarket air intake, so it hasn't been ragged out from a life of racing. The LT1 350 V8 runs strong, and sounds great. The auto transmission shifts through all the gears, with no slipping. It is a hard-top, which is great because that means no leaky / squeaky old T-tops! The paint is in average condition for its age. There are a few small scuffs and scrapes. The grey interior is in average condition for its age. It is fairly clean, but there are a few little things that need to be fixed to make it right. There is a tear on the side of the driver's seat, the center arm rest is broken, and the dash is badly cracked. It also needs a new radio. Nothing that affects the car's functioning, so it never concerned me because I planned to take the interior out for racing anyway. There were so many Camaros made that replacement interior parts should be easy to find in any junkyard or online, if the buyer wants to restore the interior. The oil pressure gauge has been broken since I bought the car, but the engine doesn't tick like it has an oil pressure problem, and I've run it hard on the back roads a few times with no problems, so it probably just needs a new sender unit. The only mechanical issues that really need to be addressed on the car are the leaky water pump and maybe the Opti-spark distributor. This car has a slow coolant leak, and there is a coolant drip at the front of the engine when the car is running, which appears to be coming from the water pump. Given the age of the car, it's about due for a water pump change. I priced the part at Pep Boys, and it was $50. On these LT1 engines, the opti-spark distributor is underneath the water pump, and a leaky water pump can damage the distributor. I found that if this Camaro is driven easily or if you floor the accelerator it is fine, but occasionally when you accelerate from a stop at half-throttle the engine will sputter for a few seconds. It only seems to happen when accelerating from a stop and only went using about half-throttle. I changed the ignition coil and that seemed to clear it up, but it is probably worth changing the distributor as well. Pep Boys has replacements for $150, so I'd say that the whole job should cost about $200 and a Sunday afternoon for a mechanically inclined person with a set of tools. Other than that, this car needs a new set of tires. Overall, I think this is a pretty good car for its age. This Camaro will be 20 years old in 10 months, so at that time it will be eligible for cheap historic plates and insurance in Maryland. Title is clear and ready to be signed over to the winning bidder. There are no plates on the car currently, so the winner will need to trailer it home. This car is sold as is with no warranty. Payment is to be made in cash. Serious bidders are welcome to come and check out the car, etc., just please give me enough notice so that I can adjust my schedule to meet you. The winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction, and the car must be picked-up and paid for within 1 week of the end of the auction. Bidders with zero or negative feedback must contact me prior to bidding - I will delete your bids otherwise.
