Vehicle Detail

1973 Porsche 914, 5 Speed stick, Fuel injected, 2.0L. There were not many of these made with fuel injection. Very collectable. Removable hard top (TargaTop). Underneath of Porsche is good condition. Still runs & drives very well. So much of the car still needs attention that it should be considered in need of complete restoration. Addressing an issue with the brakes would make it a good driver while restoring. It runs and drives as is, but, either the service brakes inthe rear or the emergency is sticking. So, please note that it should be trailored home. I don't know anything about this Porsche or any others, I accepted as payment for other services. The glass has the original VW stamp with German writing as do other areas of the car. As far as I can see the major part is some body work and paint. Other things have been done. Here is a list of what was done previous to my owning it : Front Bilstein shocks $319 Turbo tie rods $155 23MM Torsion bars $316 Rear Bilstein shocks $300 Rear 140 lb springs $127 Heat exchangers $1150 Short shift kit $119 Rebuilt transmission $3000 I did not receive any paperwork confirming this, only what I was told. As I said I have no problem with how it would run and drive after fixing the brakes. I just don't have the money to make it beautiful again and I don't want to see it sit idle. The interior is decent, could be kept as is with a few improvements, wouldn't take much. Interior is actually a deeper/richer black color than my camera turns out with it's blinding flash. Please look at the pictures carefully before bidding. If you are familiar with a Porsche like this, you know this one is a perfect canidate for restoration, or you might say a track car after driving it. Glad to help with any questions, call 319-981-5421. Selling as is, no warranty or any other promises. I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime as it is also being listed locally. Thank You and Good Luck!!On Mar-18-12 at 21:16:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I was told by someone with interest that a fuel injected 2.0 engine is not at all rare or unusual to a car like this. As I said I don't know anymore than what I was told. I do know that it runs great and have confidence pulling next to almost anything and leaving it behind. I do feel the jest of superior engineering when shifting through the gears in this car.On Mar-23-12 at 17:45:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I just wanted to add that there are hardly any of these 914's of any year that people are willing to give up restored or not. This is your chance to own one that can be restored at a modest price. Bid to win, cause you may not ever see another one as affordable as this. Good Luck!!!
