Early service records confirm regular maintenance and the beautiful red result is that 25 years later, this 944 is as strong and reliable as the day it was made. We acquired the car when the husband finally made the decision to part with his late wife's much loved Porsche. The engine starts immediately, the drive train is sound and besides being very powerful, this 944 tracks straight, stops smooth and corners like a race car. In short, it is everything a German sports is supposed to be; fast, comfortable and waaay too good looking. The concealed headlights open as they should and all exterior lights burn bright. The paint looks great, the body is straight and the interior is spectacular. The 5-hole "phone-dial" wheels mimic those found on the 928. The front engine/rear transaxle design gives the 944 near neutral handling that few cars possess. The good news is; everything works on this well cared for Porsche except the sun roof's power mechanism. Front/rear independent suspension, 4-wheel power disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering are sports car credentials you expect from a Porsche. What you might not expect is a 944 that starts and drives as well as this car does. Of course, good looks are a given with a Porsche this nice but unlike a lot of 25 year old cars, this 944 is clean and beautiful underneath and under the hood.
