Vehicle Detail
For Sale: 1989 BMW 750 IL Thanks for looking at this vehicle. This has been a great car, but I need to sell it and make room in my garage. Exterior Color: White Interior Color: Gray Leather Mileage: 154,199 The car came with almost all factory options. This is a fun car to drive and has a beast of a 12 cylinder engine. It accelerates cleanly. It has never had any engine or transmission problems. It was always kept up with routine maintenance schedule. The gas mileage is surprisingly good, if you don’t drive with a lead foot. The A/C still works, dual zone, and still blows cold air. The radio and speakers still work great. Front and back seats are power adjustable and still work as far as I know. All the lights and blinkers work. There are no issues with the engine or anything under the hood (see below for more detail.) The car has never been in a major accident to my knowledge, and that is how it was sold to me from a dealer. The tires do not have a ton of miles on them, and still have some tread left. This was always driven smoke free. All in all a good car, just wasn’t getting enough usage to justify keeping it and insuring it. With a few hours spent on some details, it should be a great vehicle for someone. As mentioned, it has been a great reliable car since I bought it. There have been a few issues with it that I know of, that merit mentioning. The hazard lights will occasionally turn on when a door is opened. Online, I found where it is one fuse that needs replacing to fix this, I never bothered. The passenger side windshield wiper is not working. It is supposed to be a 1 hour or less fix, I never bothered. The power steering fluid has a slow leak, and will cause a whining when turning the steering wheel some of the time. It has never materially affected driving. The windshield has cracks in it but is fully functional. A friend backed into the front of the car with a large SUV at a very slow speed. It did slightly bend the hood, and shattered the glass casing of a headlight, which still works. The driver side front window does not go up and down. The engine coolant and motor oil both have very slow leaks, never really need to top them off, but worth mentioning. Car has not been registered since 2006, and has only been driven around my neighborhood a few times per month. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you may have. Buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle or shipping costs and logistics. I will gladly make myself available to assist a shipping company for delivery. Good luck bidding & thanks again!
