Vehicle Detail

**NO RESERVE** For your consideration is an original California 1972 Ranchero GT that I acquired last year year from a family member. He had owned it for about 20 years prior after purchasing it from the original owner. Had not been driven for a few years due to his failing health, but I'm sure it could be returned to drivable condition with little effort. I'm happy to answer any questions, but please read the description below. Car is available locally, so I reserve the right to end auction early if local sale is completed prior to auctions end. DATA PLATE INFO: BODY: 97R COLOR: 6C TRIM: FF AXLE: 6 TRNS: W DSO: 72 DETAILS: * Very nice brown interior, usable as-is. Seat was reupholstered and carpet was done prior to going dormant. Original molded sport/GT door panels aren't cracked, just a bit sun faded (more so on the driver's side). They would be very easy to die with over the counter materials from your paint supply store. Soft vinyl arm rests need to be re-covered, but that is a task that any competent upholstery shop can handle. Dash is as nice as I've seen. Please note that though the speaker grills are missing from the door panels in the photos, I am including with purchase a pair of mint grills. I located these after I acquired the car. * Original jack, spare, and related equipment still located under the factory vinyl curtain behind the passenger seat. *Original "Medium Yellow-Gold" paint color, with red-orange GT stripes (outlined in black, of course). About as crazy a color combination as you could want. Paint is weathered but presentable, and I'm sure it would come to life with the hand of a professional detailer. Stripes are faded, but new stripe kits are available on Ebay and other retail reproduction sources. Chrome shows its age. No signs of body damage observed, but the driver's side front fender was repainted at some point as the paint is a slightly different shade. * Original set of Fomoco steel wheels, with dog dish hubcaps and factory beauty rings are currently installed on the car with an older set of Michelin radials. * Virtually no rust observed, this is a true California car that still sports its blue/yellow license plates. Bed is very clean, and the stainless trim is straight and has never been drilled or otherwise modified for a bed cover as was so common with these. I forgot to note the mileage shown on the odometer, but it has rolled over once. * Car hasn't been run in a few years, but spins over easily and shows good compression. I've not attempted to fire the car. It will need to be towed, but rolls easily. * Car was converted to propane by the original owner, and still has all equipment in place to operate including propane tank, under hood equipment, and throttle body adapter on original 2V intake. Original gas tank is in place, but would need a 2 barrel carburetor, fuel pump, etc. to return to gasoline. * CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE IN MY NAME! Car is currently on non-op registration status I've had my eye on this car since my family member purchased it many years ago and was thrilled to acquired it from him. Due to a number of more pressing projects I've decided to sell this one as I'd rather see this original and virtually unmolested example go to someone with the time to devote to it rather than let it languish in storage any longer. Winning bidder agrees to pay a non-refundable $500 deposit VIA PayPal within 24 hours of auction's closing. Balance to be paid within 7 days unless other arrangements are made prior to close of auction. Balance can be paid VIA cash, USPS money order, or VIA PayPal. The car will not be removed from my posession until all funds have cleared. If winning bidder doesn't fulfill the terms above, I reserve the right to sell to second place bidder VIA second chance offer. I can deliver the car within 350 miles of 95367 for $1.25 per loaded mile (paid in full, in advance). I'm happy to sell to international buyers! Car is sold as-is with no warranty/guarantee stated or implied. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Arranging an inspection during the auction will be difficult due to work schedule and remote storage location. plate_junkieOn Mar-08-12 at 16:03:10 PST, seller added the following information: Please note that I made an error in the engine type...it is listed as a 6 cylinder, but anyone who is savvy enough to read the data plate code (or look at the pictures) can see it's a 351 Cleveland / 2V. Sorry for any confusion. On Mar-08-12 at 19:05:49 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to note in the description of the interior that it needs a headliner. All bows, etc. are present. Sorry for the oversight.
