Beautiful black on black Speedster Replica built on a 1969 VW chassis. It has an almost brand new (800 miles) 2110cc engine with dual 44mm Weber carbs. Black ceramic coated A-1 Sidewinder exhaust. CompuFire electronic ignition. 4-speed transmission. This Speedster will blow away most of the 1600cc and 1800cc Speedster replicas I normally see on ebaY The engine was built by GemVW in Menifee, CA (one of the top engine builders in the U.S.) It's producing approximately 135 horsepower and the car only weighs about 1900 lbs, so it's got plenty of power. The car was built in 1987 and has only been driven on an occaisional weekend from time to time,so its only got about 5000 original miles on it. I've owned it for about 1 year, and the prior owner had it for 15+ years. It was recently serviced by Wedge Automotive in Phoenix, Arizona. It has a black tonneau cover that covers the cockpit and it can be unzipped so that only the driver's side is open for when your driving alone. It currently has drum brakes, charcoal/ gunmetal colored rims with step-up chrome lips, and a AM/FM tape player. The body is fiberglass and there is some very minor damage to the front end as pictured. The car was painted over 25 years ago, and while it is gorgeous, there are a few issues with the paint closeup. I've tried to take pictures of them to show them here. The car is titled in California but is currently located in Phoenix, Arizona. If anyone is local or otherwise wants to come see the car themselves, I will certainly make it available. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and shipping arrangements, and risk of loss/damage shifts to the buyer at the time of pickup. Ask all questions before bidding. This car is sold as is/where is.
