Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE!! $1.00 Starting Bid!! REAL Toyota Corolla GTS Hatchback 5spd – Not an SR5 conversion! This is my old Toyota Corolla GTS / AE86 project car. I bought this car about 10 years ago with the intentions of doing a 4agze conversion and restoring it to its original “panda” color scheme. Instead, I moved overseas, and left the car in indoor storage. About 4 years ago I lost the indoor storage, so the car was parked behind a building on my dad's car lot. All of the glass is intact, so the interior was protected, but the primer coat on the exterior has worn thin. Now that I've moved back to the US, my plans and priorities have changed, so I'm trying to trim down my collection of project cars. I would like to hold onto this car and finish what I had intended, but I am spread too thin between all the cars I have, and this is one of them that has to go. The car was sprayed with primer when I bought it, but paperwork in the glove-box showed that it was originally white. The previous owner installed lowered springs with (he said) Tokico shocks. He had also fitted a different exhaust with an aftermarket exhaust manifold and an aftermarket muffler, as well as a remote oil cooler on the front. The car's blue-top 4age had blown its head gasket, and the previous owner took the top end of the engine apart to replace it, and then apparently lost interest. The engine and transmission are still in place, and the head, intake, etc. are inside the car. He also unbolted the front passenger's seat and put it in the trunk for some reason. Now that the primer has worn thin, I can see that there has been some bodywork on the driver's side at some point. It looks like the car swiped something on that side. Also, during the move from indoor to outdoor storage, which was done while I was overseas, the front bumper and grill were somehow lost. This is a great starting point for someone looking for a AE86 project, whether you are looking to build a race car, a street car, or just to restore one. This is a real AE86 and it is the hatchback instead of the trunk version. I wouldn't even bother messing with the current engine, just pick up a cheap 4age blue-top, or go for a 4agze, 4age 20v, etc. conversion. This car does not run, and will have to be towed home on a trailer. While this was “my” project car, it is actually titled in the name of my dad's car dealership, therefore, I am selling it on behalf of the dealership. Please read below for further details. PLEASE READ: This car is sold AS IS, with NO WARRANTY. It is in rough shape and needs restoration. I have added one picture showing what this car could look like once restored, the rest are of how the car looks right now. Please examine the supersized photos, and contact me if you have any questions. Serious bidders are welcome to come see the car, just give me notice ahead of time so I can adjust my schedule. Maryland Residents: This car is not MD-state inspected. It is over 20 years old, so if the buyer is a MD resident, the car will be sold as historic. This car is owned by Chesaco Car Company, a MD car dealership, so if the buyer is a MD resident, then the State of MD requires that my dad collect a tax of 6% of the sale price. Also, for MD residents the MVA requires that the title be processed through the MVA, at a cost of $100 to the buyer. These costs are imposed on MD residents by the government - not us! They do not apply if the winning bidder is not a Maryland resident. If the buyer has a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, a 2-month temp. tag can be supplied at an additional cost of $35. Payment is to be made in CASH at pick-up. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The car must be picked up within 1 week of the end of the auction. Bidders with zero or negative feedback, and overseas bidders, must contact me prior to bidding – I will delete your bids otherwise.
