You are bidding on a "sea foam" green 1997 Toyota Tercel, VIN no. JT2AC52L8V0212127. This Tercel has had just two owners, and despite its age, it only has 104,395 miles on its 4-cylinder engine. Best of all, the fact that it's a small Toyota and a manual means that it gets fantastic gas mileage--in upstate New York, I've been getting an average of 32mpg, and up to almost 40mpg on long stretches of highway. Its official city average is 28mpg, 35 highway, but it's performed better than that before. Moreover, its timing belt was recently replaced and it has no other mechanical problems. Also, the car comes with a custom JVC soundsystem that has not just an AUX-IN (so you can connect it to virtually any phone or MP3 player), but a USB connector that you can use to charge electronics or, if you have an iPhone or iPod, it can connect with them directly and charge while also enabling you to select songs on the stereo itself. When I bought the car about two years ago, I was only using it to commute from school to home, and occasionally out to Hyde Park for research for my thesis. Now that I graduated and live in New York City, I don't have a need for it. Never experienced any problems while I've owned it (other than a squeaky timing belt) and I know it's got a good number of years left in it. Perfect for a first car. Additionally, because I live in the city now, I can only come up to hand off the car on the weekend after the auction ends.
