Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1985 Dodge D-150 Short Box Resto Rod. The short version is as follows: Every inch of this truck has been gone through during its frame up restoration down to the last nut and bolt. It now sports a 440 Magnum, 727 Torqueflite trans and a 8 3/4 rear. It is ROCK SOLID front to back and top to bottom. Rust free and mechanically perfect. Everything works as new or better and it is a BLAST to drive. I have been the proud owner for the past 7 years and my current financial situation is the only reason I am selling it. Now for those of you interested in the long version it is as follows: One of a kind 1985 Resto Rod Dodge Ram Pickup, this truck has less than 46,500 miles on it since it's full frame up restoration. The truck was also featured in Mopar Muscle Magazine, June 2004 issue (color 4 page spread). You will not find a nicer pickup anywhere. Engine Specs:1971 H 440 Magnum bored .30 over with Speedpro L2235 pistons and rings. Crank shaft is a forged .10 under and polished with forged connecting rods and a full balancing of the entire assembly. Heads are 452 castings ported and polished with 2.08 intake and 1.74 exhaust Speedpro valves covered with a pair of Mopar Performance blue valve covers. A Direct Connection Hemi grind cam shaft with matching springs and Mopar Performance rocker assemblies and push rods. The intake is a ported Holly Street Dominator with an 850 cfm Demon carburetor and electric choke, being fed by a high volume mechanical Carter fuel pump and filtered with a Fram spin off fuel filter. Ignition is a Mopar Performance Distributor with an Accell coil and Mopar ignition module. The starter is a Mopar Performance lightweight. Exhaust is CPPA headers wrapped with heat shield to 2 1/2 inch Dynomax mufflers that exit under the bed. They give the truck a nice deep rumble. Trans and Cooling:A 727 Torqueflite transmission with a B&M hole shot 2600 stall converter. A Mopar Performance rebuild kit with a 4.3 kick down band, 4 disc front clutch and a NoYoYo modified separator plate in the value body keeping the shift short and tight. The tranny is cooled by the radiator and a 24 K GVW B&M racing cooler. Engine is cooled by a 3 row made in USA Modine radiator with a OEM shroud and flex fan. Rear End:The rear end is an 8 3/4 narrowed with resplined axles and Moser Engineering bearings. Chunk is a 489 case 3.23 gears for street ability. A set of heavy duty 5 leaf springs and relocated perches lower the stance in the rear. Brakes and Suspension:Factory 11" set up all the way around with manual discs. Mopar Performance bias adjust value added. The rotor, bearings, seals, pads, drums, shoes, lines, wheel cylinders, E brake cable, hoses and all hardware have been replaced. It has a set of new shocks, factory front sway bar, center link idler arm and steering coupler. Coils were modified to lower the stance of the front end and a true 4 wheel alignment was done. Tires and Wheels:A set of 15x10x3.5 offset Weld ProStar super lights wrapped with a set of Mickey Thompson 29x15 R15LT tires in the rear and 15x6x3 offset Welds wrapped with Mickey Thompson 28x10 R15LT in the front. The truck rides as smooth and quiet as a car with no squeaks, rattles or any other obnoxious noises. Body:Anything that could be purchased new for the body was replaced in order to eliminate any rust and dents. Very little filler and glazing compound were used during the body work. The paint is factory correct original pearl white centari with performance pack added. New OEM fenders, doors, radiator support, bumper and brackets were used. A fiberglass RT Challenger hood with NOS 440 badges. The windshield was replaced and the rest of the glass re polished. The fender wells and cowl were smoothed for show quality. The factory gas filler door was relocated to the back of the quarter with a JAZ 16 gallon Prostreet fuel cell. The fuel cell was mounted under the truck, not in the bed utilizing the factory fuel gauge. The bed has been tubbed using NOS fender wells. The tail gate is light weight with a NOS stainless trim panel. The grill was replaced with after market chrome grill as well as the surround and bezels. A LUND fiberglass roll pan and NOS Mopar tail lights finish out the rear. All nuts, bolts and screws were installed exactly as they came off the truck. Interior:The interior is charcoal gray with a factory sport steering wheel. All gauges were restored and calibrated and work as they did when new. The speedometer is accurate and an Autometer 3" tach sits on the steering column. The wring harness was restored and loomed as per factory with no cuts or modifications. The radio is a Pioneer CD player with 4 way 6x9 Pioneer speakers in the doors. A Bazooka nitros bottle sub and amp give a nice thump behind the seat. The carpet was replaced and custom lower door carpet was installed. The A/C system was restored with a new Mopar evaporator core and head control unit, NOS compressor and lines with 134A. This truck will not disappoint with looks or performance. Sold as is with a clear title, a copy of Mopar Muscle Magazine June 2004 and everything pictured. Thanks for looking. Happy Bidding!!!
