1986 Mustang LX Convertible. 3.8L V6 TBI fuel injected, 3 speed Auto transmisson. Car was used a daily driver up until 5 months ago. Selling due to the purchase of a truck. The good: Engine runs well Car drives well down the road Interior is in good shape and pretty clean All glass is good Power top works Aftermarket Sony Radio Rocker panels solid Floor pan solid Front Fenders and Hood Solid Factory vinyl convertible top boot included with sale The Bad: The car has rust on it, as do almost all unrestored Fox Body Mustangs outside of Arizona, but this one is solid for a Fox Body. Bottoms of both doors, some rust behind the rear wheel wells, and the trunk lid hem flange. Passenger side rear lower control arm mount(torque box) still holding axle fine, just rusty looking. The top needs to be replaced, there are some tears around the rear window and one on the drivers side where it meets the rear window. The top is leaking and the trunk is wet inside. The trunk and spare tire well is NOT rusted out or even surface rusted yet though, just has water in it from the top leaking. There is a small cigarette burn in the passenger seat bottom cushion, missing the drivers side sun visor cardboard, and the center consol armrest lid The trans likes to hold onto second gear a little when up shifting. Otherwise the trans is solid and shifts well. There is an exhaust leak, I think its the donut gasket where the Y-pipe meets the manifold. The rest of the exhaust system is very solid, has a new muffler thats nice a quiet. Overall the car can be driven daily, and was. It is an 86 Mustang and does need some TLC, but with just a little normal Fox Body repair work, this car would be a blast in the summer with the top down. Great candidate for a 5.0L V8 swap, or just to clean up and cruise in and look good.
