Vehicle Detail

For sale I have a 1975 Pontiac Firebird Formula clone. I have done a lot of work to this car but some work still remains. I bought the car in 2007; it had a non-original 350 Pontiac motor that was in bad shape and a leaking transmission. I had a Chevy 350 put in and a overdrive 200-4R transmission. The Chevy motor puts out great power and the overdrive is great on the highways. The Chevy motor was available at the time. I did not want the car sitting around and not being able to drive it with a bad motor. I was wanting to put a newer LS motor in anyway, but never got around to it. I have a lot of new parts for the car still in the boxes that will go with it as well as other used parts that will go if the buyer wants them. I’m listing below the things I have done to the car and the things that still need to be done as well as the new parts that will go with it. I can transport the car and parts to the buyer up to an 8 hour drive for an additional charge. Exterior: Paint in pretty good shape, not a great paint job, but a good one. It had been painted before I bought the car so I have no info on the place that painted it but it could have been better. As with most cars of this age I’m sure there is plastic filler under the paint, hard to paint any car without it especially an older car. The inner quarter panels are in great shape which is surprising for a car of this year model, most 70’s model Firebirds have rust issues in the inner quarter panels, these are in great shape. For some reason the rubber bumpers were painted gloss black, the paint on the bumpers is cracking but it still looks decent. The trunk is also in great shape with no rust, and an original looking mat. **New parts installed on the exterior: New rubber filler piece between the front bumper and grill, new tires, 16” chrome wheels from a 2002 Trans Am with wheel spacers. New door and trunk locks. New headlights with H4 bulbs. LED taillights bulbs. Drivetrain/suspension: New 245/50R16 Hankook tires with chrome wheels from a 2002 Trans Am, 350 Chevy motor, runs great, new Elderbrock carb, 200-R4 overdrive transmission with a shifter upgrade from “Shifterworks.com” including a new gear indicator with an OD position. Polygraphite suspension and sway bar bushing and upgrade from PST and QA1 adjustable coilover shocks and springs, slotted/drilled rotors from JEG’s and new bearings. The coilover shocks and springs are adjustable and I have the front end lowered to the top of the tires. New radiator and heater coil. I also have a set of 17”tires and wheels from a 2004 GTO that will go with the car, the wheels are like new. Interior: A previous owner put cheap aftermarket gauges in the car and cut up the wires in the process. I cannot stand for someone to half ass something. I still have the cheap gauges in the car but I had a set of 1975 correct gauges that was sent to “Autoinstruments.com” in Virginia to have them completely rebuilt, Thanx Gentry!! The gauges were re-surfaced, all calibrated and any broken parts replaced, the clock was converted to a quartz movement. New Parts not installed: A new wiring harness, a new dash pad from “Classic Industries”, 1975 correct gague cluster with quartz clock upgrade. New Pro Car fully reclineable seats and seat adapters. New carpet and underlayment, 150 sq ft of Dynamat. New headliner and dual center dash speaker. I also have new door hinges and trunk springs. Many other parts that I did not have time to go thru and get a description. Please call me at 828-460-4617 if you have any questions. Thank You! On Nov-15-11 at 13:49:02 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve price is $5500.00. The car drives and runs great. The engine and transmission were professionaly rebuilt. The trans was rebuilt with a high quality shift kit. The car easily chirps the tires shifting into second gear.
