I am offering for sale a 1971 Mercury Cougar XR7. The car is complete, and has been partially disassembled in preparation for restoration. Of particular interest here is the 351 Cleveland 4V that was in the car and the C6 transmission, both of which are numbers matching for this car. I am selling the entire car for the price of this highly desirable engine. The V8 has been torn down and is ready for rebuild as well. The cylinders and crank look good, and all the parts are here- pistons, heads, rods, 4 barrel carb, everything. The car itself has good body panels and glass (except windshield), and the parts on these cars- doors, hood, trunk, etc.- go for big money online. If you are looking for a strong restoration project or need parts for an existing one, don’t miss out on this great vehicle. The floor pans and trunk floor need replacement, but the body is straight and it is 100% complete. If you are interested only in the engine and/or tranny, let me know and we can work out a deal that everyone wins. Pictures of the car and the engine are below. All the parts that have been taken off the car are currently in the basement away from the elements. I hate to part with this car, but space is needed and it has to go. It is listed with a low reserve and a low buy it now price. Transport of the car and parts is up to the buyer, so if you live in CO, you are the luckiest (for a lot of reasons). The car rolls and has tires on it that hold air, but there are a lot of parts off of it that will need transport as well.
