2001 Mercedes-Benz S500 Sport No Reserve! The highest bidder at the end of the auction wins the car, regardless of the final price! Immaculate condition inside and out Drives absolutely flawlessly Meticulous maintenance history Loaded with virtually every option possible Up for your bidding consideration is my pristine 2001 Mercedes-Benz S500 sport sedan. This S500 has had only one previous owner, who was a competition pilot and took meticulous care of every aspect of the car. He used it for long highway commutes that resulted in the accumulation of miles on the odometer, but very little actual wear to the car. This is immediately evident when one sees and drives this Mercedes. You will be very hard-pressed to find a nicer or more solid car than this! This S500 has never been smoked in and still retains the fresh smell of leather. It runs perfectly without any issue. Every 10k mi “A” and “B” service has been religiously completed at factory recommended intervals, by certified Mercedes-Benz technicians, using only genuine Mercedes-Benz parts and fluids. The 302 HP 5.0 Liter V8 engine is extremely powerful and responsive, yet still extremely quiet and smooth. During the most recent service, all 24 of the spark plugs were replaced with new Bosch 100k platinum plugs. The electronic five-speed automatic transmission shifts effortlessly through all of the gears, without any difficulty and allows the driver to select between summer and winter modes, and manually shift gears up or down with a flick of the wrist. The transmission fluid was flushed and refilled with genuine synthetic Mercedes fluid during the most recent service as well, to ensure that everything is fresh and clean. All of the buttons, controls, and indicators function absolutely flawlessly, just as they did the day the car left the factory. On the road, this S500 is extremely tight and maintains a very secure posture thanks to an exceptionally precise Airmatic Suspension with Adaptive Damping System (ADS). Additionally, this particular model has the rare and very sought-after Active Body Control (ABC), which virtually eliminates body roll in many driving situations including cornering, accelerating, and braking. The result is a car that feels rock-solid no matter how aggressive the conditions. The system also incorporates height adjustable suspension which automatically lowers the vehicle in “Sport Mode”, or when the car reaches higher speeds. The ABC system also allows self-levelling suspension, which raises or lowers the car in response to changing loads (i.e. +/-passengers and/or luggage). As of last year, the suspension had undergone a rigorous servicing, having had one of the shocks replaced and the entire system flushed. This is considered to be a major service, and as such, should not require any additional maintenance for many years to come. Still further, this S500 comes with the very desirable Distronic autonomous cruise control system, which uses a radar system to automatically slow the car when it approaches another slower-moving vehicle, and accelerate again when traffic allows. This is extremely helpful for long highway commutes and makes the ride even more relaxing and enjoyable. As with any pre-owned car, there will be some age-related wear, but as can be noted in the many pictures, this is very minimal. The only items that the next owner may want to pursue is correcting is the washer fluid reservoir, which leaks, and the CD player, which has stopped working. Other than these simple things, this car is virtually perfect. If the winning bidder either fails to pay the one thousand dollar ($1,000) payment within twenty-four (24) hours of the auction close, or does not pay the remaining balance within the five (5) business day period, the seller has the right to refuse the sale and any payment to the seller will not be returned to the buyer. If the buyer decides after placing a winning bid or otherwise agreeing to purchase the vehicle that he or she does no longer wants the vehicle, no refund of any kind will be issued. Additionally, no allowance, refund, or compensation of any kind will be given to the buyer if he or she is unsatisfied with any area, system, or part of the vehicle after the sale has been completed. Inspection I fully welcome a buyer's private inspection.
