1973 HONDA SL 125 K2 UNRESTORED 1,216 original miles, runs strong, right up to 9,500 redline, strong brakes, gr8t shifting, good suspension, gr8t handling, grippy tires, driven it abt 100 miles since feb of 2011 ... all photos taken today, ( 1-27-12 ) again, this is a 1,216 original mile bike everything works, except no trip odometer reset pin, ( i sanded the points, and reset them { last yr }, as they are abt 17 yrs old ... however, the bike shld have new points ) i just started this bike today ( 1-27-12 ) on the first kick and took a 76 second video, of it running ( and took all these photos - shown here - on the ebay auction ) i am the second owner, bike is currently licensed, tagged, and insured ( in California ) i bought this bike in June of 1993 this bike is unrestored, ( new tires and battery, last year ) the bike comes with the (2) factory original NITTO tires, ( just replaced them last yr, they still worked & held air ) one photo shows the bike idling ( tach shows 1,500 ) i believe it has been driven the 758 miles ( on trip odometer - see photo ) since i have owned it always had inside storage ( garage or shed ) bike has been in Norwalk or Lakewood CA, since purchased new, in late Feb of 1974 before that; it sat at the dealer from 'Aug 72 ( its assembly date - made in Japan ) until sold in Feb of 1974 ( here in So Cal ) have a # of nice documents; orig owners manual, bill of sale from mid 1993 xerox of original pink slip issued in Feb of 1974 original blue yellow CA plate issued to orig owner, upon purchase of the bike when new ....... the Patina of the bike shows the age ( but the bike still has a "new like" look in person ... hard to describe - photos show the bike honestly- all were taken today ) ....... but it still cleans up nicely, ( whatever i have done, the bike responds, and looks alot btr, - for tht specific area - ea time i have done any detailing ) in person, the bike looks great, more detailing and cleaning will bring it to the next level of cosmetic condition paint shines ( but has "patina" )chrome is ok to nice ( depending on area )rubber grips feel newseat is nice ( just right ) but has a small hole ( tear - see photos )side covers good, one small scrape ... tank paint shines, but has some "Patina" ( like the fenders ) orig owner drove it abt 450 miles from Feb 74 to Feb 75, then they parked it in their garage in Norwalk ....... it sat til summer of 93, tank was cleaned out, bike was running nice when i bought it in late June of 93 ( with 1975 tags on it ) ....... and then, under my ownership, the bike was driven up to abt 1,100 miles, then put it in long term storage in abt late '95 ....... and then after being in storage for abt 15 yrs ... i pulled it out, in mid 2010, ( to sell it ), and decided on keeping it, so i re-registered it in Feb of 2011, drove it abt 100 miles since then. what i have done, over the yrs; a # of oil changespoints 1994plug 1994air filter 1994battery 1995 (?)rear tube replace 1994new battery, Feb 2011professional motorcycle mechanic visit mid 2011installed; 2 new tires ( & 2 new tubes ) in correct factory sizes ...new fuel petcockaddress minor wiring issueinstalled plug tank was cleaned out & coated in 1993, mechanic says its still fine last 18 mos, some cleaning, ( chrome polish, wax, & on a couple of areas of chrome i tried naval jelly ... great results ) ....... i dont believe i ever cleaned it back when i rode it more ( 1993 - 1995 ) its ready for a new home ( you will be the third owner ) terms of sale; ... sold "as is" .... i'll hold the bike for 30 days while you arrange shipping ... once the funds have cleared, the title will be signed over, when the bike leaves my place, not before, so i can be sure this is leaving my property ....... before i sign it over ( if tht makes any sense ? ) On Feb-05-12 at 07:45:44 PST, seller added the following information: here is what i have for docs, ppr work, etc; in no ( particular ) order - receipt from motorcyle mechanic dtd 7-29-11 - bill of sale dtd 6-30-1993 ( explains why cycle was stored from 75 to 93 ) - DMV inspection on 2-16-10 ( had to reregister it - 1,108 miles, correct engine # ) - xerox of original pink slip showing date 1st sold ( 2-23-1974 ) - receipt of deposit for the bike, dtd 6-30-1993 - xerox of my 1st title dtd 6-30-1993 ( had to give tht up on re-registration feb of 2010 ) - current - clean - title, issued 2-26-10 - original plate - last dtd - with sticker - jul of 1997 ( this plate # is listed on all the 1974 ppr work ) - orig owners manual dtd feb-23-1974 ( date bike was purchased ) - orig calif regis card from 3-23-74 - DMV moving permit card dtd 7-7-93 - xerox of orig registration from 7-94 also have the 2 orig - factory made - keys for the bike On Feb-05-12 at 19:40:18 PST, seller added the following information: - oh yes, the original tool kit is rite where it belongs, & all there, ( as far as i know ), and as i recall, it's in a bag, tht ttly looks like a 1973 HM, authentic, "Japanese type designed" plastic bag, from tht era ( if tht makes any sense at all ? ), lite gun metal blue - color - as i recall. - the (2) original NITTO tires, that come with the bike, will help to verify, tht the mileage is 1,216 original miles ( by the amt of tred left on them ), and they were jst removed, last summer ....... after the motorcycle mechanic removed them, i got to see them from the inside, still in good shape there, but the outside, had age related cracking ( not too bad, but i wanted safety first, so i replaced them both ) - the new tires are Vee Rubber tires; i believe these are the best tires you cld possibly buy for this bike, very correct looking ( speed rated, and spr well built - as far as i can tell ), and in the original factory sizes ( used - new - HD tubes, in the correct sizes too )
