You are looking at a 1973 BMW 2002 tii. I puchased this car from a deceased collector's wife in 2002 as part of a group of 13 cars. He passed in 1990 before he had a chance to restore the goup during his retirement. She held on to them for 12 years before selling. It was last registered in 1990 (see pic)and has been garaged ever since. After several years I deciced to go ahead and restore the car and sell it. Had the work done 2 years ago. It was completly disassebled and put on a roticery. The entire car was gone through including removal of the old under coating to expose any issues. New under coating was put on and then the car was primed and repainted every where but the interior of the car. The undercarrige parts were blasted and coated with POR 15 then a satin black top coat for a bullet proof finish. The engine had a couple of the gaskets replaced but no mechanical work done as it runs fine. I did install a Pertronix points eleiminator. The car was reassebled with the following items being replaced with new, thermostat, hoses, rotor, cap, plugs. Door, windscreen, backglass, trunk gaskets. Exterior belt line trim, front seat covers,(dyed blue) exhaust system, later style wheels and tires, (like new), headliner, and many other bits and pieces. Had the front bumper rechromed, the rest is in good to great shape. Lenses and such are also in good shape. Brakes and clutch were in good shape, no changes needed. The chin spoiler was removed as it has been curbed several times and I was going to put an air dam on but later choose not to. The car runs and drives fine. While the body is straight, the extior paint gave me a fit on color sand and final polish. Looks good in day light but you can see light scratches under florecent lights, not bad and a good buff person could probably get it better. The upper dash has the usual crack, a fix failed, the radio is an old 70's roadmaster and is not hooked up and there are not speakers in the car. Package tray was redone with no holes as well as door panels with ho holes, the door panels are fair to good. There is a small cut in the console, (see pic), and the clock doesn't work. I do try to describe things accuratly. I have a clear title, partial tool kit, owners and Haynes service manuals, several other document including one peice of paper in German that I have no idea what it is but has the VIN and a persons name from La Jolle california on it. Also included are a car cover, sheep skin seat covers that came in the car, and the original wheels, tires and hub caps, they are not restored and one tire has a cut in the side from a tranport mishap back in '02. The orginal spare tire was restored and is in the rust free well. The accuraate pics should give a good idea of the cars condition. The couple of marks on the under carrage are from mud in the yard as is was wet out when I shot the pics. Feel free to call or e-mail any questions.
