Vehicle Detail

What we have here is a 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with only 56k original miles. First I would like to say that I am a very honest seller. Please see my 100% positive feedback. I am a business owner and this was my personal collector car. I have owned the car for approximately (11) years. I have put very few miles on the car. In fact I purchased the car with 55,620 and now the odometer is reading only 56,500. I guess that tells me I work too much and that is why I have decided to sell. This Stingray is painted in its original Mille Miglia Red or commonly known as Resale Red !! The interior is black vinyl as you can see. The paint shines very well which had a fresh repaint just before I purchased the car. I wanted red because I feel red is the best possible color for this iconic American Sports Car. This is a driver quality car and not a show car. The paint has flaws as you would expect in a driver quality car but still looks very nice. There is one chip which occured while being stored in my mothers garage for which I have provided a picture. Of course no one will confess to this crime but it is there. Could be touched up of course. The interior is black vinyl as you can see in the pictures. The dash has no cracks. The interior is clean and not all beat up but again it is driver quality. The storage compartment inserts are in poor condition but I do have replacements that will go with the car if the reserve is met. The carpet on the compartment doors is coming loose but again this is not a show car and the reserve price reflects that. The front carpet is replacement cut-pile but the rear carpet is the original loop carpet. The floor mats are in great condition with corvette logo on them. The car is equipped with a 8-track am/fm radio which really needs replacement. The dash is uncut which is a plus. I have a completely refurbished 1971 am/fm chevrolet radio that will be available for an additional cost if interested. Otherwise I will sell afterwards. This is a factory air car but the air components had been removed before I purchased the car. Another option for this Stingray is the tilt/telescopic steering which I feel is a must in a Corvette. The speedometer and odometer work as they should as well as all guages. The clock and the lighter are non-operational but as you know are quite common in the Corvette. This Corvette is equipped with the 350 small block and automatic transmission. When I bought this car I was a delivery driver that shifted gears for (12) hours a day so the last thing I wanted to do was shift gears when going for a weekend relaxing drive. About two years after owning the car I noticed it would smoke after start up but would go away after a few minutes. This was embarrassing to me so I had the heads removed and took them to a local professional engine rebuilder to have the valves cut along with new valve seals. This company did anything they needed. At same time I replaced the water pump, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, belts, hoses, and thermostat. The engine runs very strong. There is a very slight miss because I think the timing is just a tad off. No engine noises or smoke. Very strong running small block chevy. Equipped with Holley Carb. and Street Dominator intake. I am not sure whether this is a number-matching car because I never cared to be honest because I drive my classic cars. I guess you should bid accordingly. The tranmission shifts when it supposed to and smooth as well. No issues here. As you can see this car has its original corvette rallyes with Goodyear Wingfoot HP tires with nearly no miles on them. The headlights work as they should with one opening and closing slower than the other which is typical with these cars. Both the front and rear bumpers shine well but do show wear. This car is (41) years old afterall and the chrome bumpers are original to the car. The convertible top is white and original I believe. Unfortunately the top has a rip because of a stupid mistake by me. I tried to raise the top in my garage which at the time was cold and it ripped. Cannot blame anybody but myself. Just a stupid mistake. This car has always been stored inside and I never had any desire to raise the top. I was asked by one of my employees to drive them in a local parade and because there was a chance of rain that next day I wanted to check out the top and that is when it happened. Since I have owned this car it has never been in the rain nor driven at night because I did not want to clean the bugs off. I have always kept a nice coat of Professional Wax on my car. At one point I owned a Detail Shop so my supplies are of professional grade only. Overall this is a very nice driver Corvette. This is not a show car so it can be driven and enjoyed. I have set the reserve price very low considering this is 1971 Corvette Stingray convertible with only 56k original miles. The undercarriage is very clean I know because I required the dealer to put it on the rack before purchasing the car. I do not have time to enjoy the car so I am gonna let her go but do not want to. If you are looking for a good-looking-good-driving Corvette this is the car for you. If you are looking for a showcar then look elsewhere and plan on spending a lot more money. Other than the few items mentioned above this Corvette needs nothing but a new owner. Please ask any questions before bidding because afterwards is too late. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I will assist in anyway I can. May deliver in my enclosed trailer for a fee and dependant on where you are. I will not reveal the reserve price so please do not ask. I can tell you it is very reasonable for what you are getting. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I require a $500.00 deposit through Paypal within (48) hours and paid in full within (3) days. I cannot release the car or title until the funds "completely" clear. USA bidders only, all bids outside USA will be cancelled. Thanks for looking. On Feb-06-12 at 14:00:19 PST, seller added the following information: I have added a pic of some paint damage behind the drivers seat from where someone let the seat fall backwards too quickly and the chrome button on the back of the seat scratched the paint. I would have added this on the first description but had forgotten it was there until just today. Sorry for any inconvience this may have caused. Paint scratches are not seen unless the seat is pulled forward. That is why I had forgetten about it.
