Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is a very nice example of and early 911, a matching numbers car with most of its original equipment as listed on the COA (Certificate of Authenticity) from Porsche. Missing is its original radio and extended hub steering wheel. The car was repainted sometime in the mid eighties to a silver gray color to match the then owners later 911. Original color of the car is code 38 or Emerald Green (Viper green), the interior has been redone in black leather and shows well. Since I have owned her, I've done some of the little things, hand throttle, all shift bushigs, rear wheel bearings, repacked fronts and bled out the brake system. The car is currently running weber carbs in place of the original MFI system. The COA does not state the transaxle number, but the car currently has a 4 speed 915 transaxle. I have a 915 5 speed core with a 7;31 R&P that I would be willing to part with for a token amount. I don't have the MFI system. The car runs very good, engine smooth and drivetrain silent. The equipment you see on the car is the original equipment, the Fuchs ( 5 ) with Pirelli P-6 tires. All systems work as they should except the oil level sender which is inoperable. I would be willing to repair prior to shipping as well as do an oil change at the same time and valve adjust. I have a small Porsche shop in Virginia and with focus only on the early air cooled cars. I've been a Porsche owner, my first being when I was going to college and still own several other models. I'm selling this along with a few other late models to focus resources and effort on my 356es. This will be a great car for someone who enjoys the openness of the Targa and can drive it for years to come and do nothing to. In my opinion it would benefit greatly in value if returned to its original color of Viper Green, the MFI restored and the 5 speed gearbox. The car isn't perfect but very nice, it has at some time been hit on the left rear quarter just behind the door and the repair wasn't the best, but not that obvious to the untrained eye. Some rust on the lower right torsion bar support outside, easy fix. This is really a nice car everything fits nicely and doors still have the distinct ping when closed. You won't be disappointed with this car as I have set a low reserve and there is nothing but value to be had in its future. I have posted a few random pics but when I'm able to offer a link to the additional pics I'll do so.On Feb-08-12 at 03:27:40 PST, seller added the following information: https://picasaweb.google.com/ryan242v/1972Porsche911E?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCNG__daaiJeDfw&feat=directlink# Link to additional pictures.
