Vehicle Detail
1968 Porsche SWT, matching numbers. Orginal color Dunkel Rot Metallic (dark red metallic), black leatherette interior, 4 speed gearbox. Offered for auction is my above mentioned Porsche. I am a long time Porsche owner and have several cars that I will be putting up for sale in the next few days. see my other items. The 912 soft window targa would be an excellent restoration candidate following 5 years or so of driving enjoyment. The car runs and drives beautifully - starts everytime with little effort. Engine has Weber carbs, other that that change original components. I purchased the car in Ohio and drove it home to Virginia Beach a few years ago. Since then I have replaced the seats with same year but very nice condition, installed new Verdestein 165 X 15 tires. The previous owner had brakes, wheel bearing, brake lines and all shifting couplings and components replaced, I have put less than 2K on the car since I bought it including the drive home from Ohio. The car isn't perfect, but very straight, I installed the early 911 headlights as I never warmed up the the US required headlights from '68. There is some rust on the lower part of doors and some minor rust in the floor. I've seen worse on "Spent most of its life in California" car. Although the rear soft window is not cracked or torn, I would recommend replacng it with a new window as the zipper tab is missing. I have the COA (Certificate of Authenticity) from Porsche verifying all numbers and optional equipment, most notable to options is a leather steering wheel. I will respond as quickly as I can to any and all questions with honesty and to the best of my knowledge. I hope this car goes to a new owner that will appreciate it for what it is and will give her a good home. I will also do my best to make this a positive transaction. I'm selling this and several other 70's Porsches to focus the resources on the restoration two old 356es. I'll include a link to additional pics once it is available.
