Vehicle Detail
this is our first ebay auto auction. we have a 1959 vw van, some call it a kombi, or a split window, or a barn door, or a walk through van. up date, thanks to all intrested and giving me info, this is a 11 window van, Not a 15 window van. sorry im not a vw expert. update, we do have the rear seat sorry did not get it in the pictures. we do not have the center bench seat. the vw van is in north platte, nebraska, 4 hr. west of omaha, and 4 hr east of denver, on i-80. contact us about delivery, in the past we have had the winner rented a u-haul van and car dolly, so we can meet half way to you., we have also shipped vehicals over seas and can give you any info we have. the manufacture plate on the passanger seat back says the color was blue, and the # is 59 53 78 . im told that this is the serial number. there are other numbers on the plate, if you want any more, please drop a line here. if you have any questions, you can contact me here and i can send my cell # if you want detailed info. my parents had a salvage yard, body and machanics shop from 1967 to 1995, and we got this back in 76 , one of fathers many projects. we are selling it as parts assembled, and can get a State of Nebraska bonded title. we can assist winnner with obtaining title , no problem at all, we have used the stated bonded title when we have shipped vehicals over seas. when getting a nebraska bonded title, after 3 years the bond disapates and its a clean title for a 59 vw issued in 2012. we just pulled the vw out, when we got it, it was a daily driver, around town here, the running chassie is complete, there should be no missing parts from the brakes or such. the vw should be 98 % origional. no one has stripped it or worked on it and lost intrest. there is no motor, but has the transmission in and hooked up. we got it with no motor and father was going to make it a shop van. as a body and fender guy, looking at it from the top down, the metal from the rocker panels up is solid and straight, looks like very minor dings and dents that could be pushed out with a body spoon. there is no front vw emblam, and there is a soft dent or press in on the front nose. look like you could put your foot on it from behind and under the dash and push is streight. the rain gutter is solid with no rot, just need to clean up the old paint and surface rust cleaned up. the doors are solid and straight, we dont have the keys, heaven know where dad put them,,lol.. we cant open the back upper door. there is no driver out side handle, and no handles on the side door. you have 2 good window laches in the cargo windows. the front doors need handles for the slider window. there is 15 windows, but need to find new glass, they would work at first for the beginner. the rockers need to be replaced, looking under there are 2 floor brackets that need to be replaced when putting a new floor in. you can see in the pics the center floor " cargo area " need cleaned and replaced. the metal over the motor and in front, is solid straight. looking at driver and passenger floor, there are holes and could be patched or replaced. the corrners are all solied, looking at the frame, its clean and solid. it looks like its the cargo area that needs replaced. from what i can see the dash and over head vent has all the knobs, the seats have good springs and frames, need re-upholstered. there is an eng, case and a transmission case that we has always been in the van, dont know a thing about vw dont know what they are for or what year they are, but will include them with the van. if this is your first time project, this is a sweet van, looking it over and never working on a vw, its surprisingly simplely made, the motor slides in from behind, compaired to todays cars, you can have a motor removed and replaced in 3 hr. i have too many other projects to work on the vw. but i talked to a vw guru that has motors and parts, i would just put a motor in it and start driving..lol.. if there is any questions, please drop a emails. we beleive there is $3000.00 in standing parts assembled, we are starting the auction at $1000.00 . we ask that you not bid if your not really intrested. if someone wins and declines to pay, we will use all means through ebay to settle all matters. we have watch other vw vans for auction here in the past, a lot of rusty and rotted projects. remember to contact us with delivery options help and info. On Jan-31-12 at 07:59:48 PST, seller added the following information: update the odomator says 77989... no tenths. it was a local car. we are trying to load up better pics of the back seat. also i was ask how much we though the vw was worth. we think its worth $3000.00 plus, mostly because its origional and they ease to restore. no one has messed it up. this is the first time we have did ebay auto auciton. .. we wanted to try it out.
