Pricing Note: There's a local buyer meeting with the seller tomorrow 1/28/12 around 1:00 EST/10:00 PSTto talk about a deal, so this listing may be canceled before it ends. The starting bid is set at a $500 over the numbers mentioned by the seller when I talked to him last night. The first bid will cancel the Buy Now option. If you bid or you do the Buy Now, you've won this collectible. Just so you know. General Information I have recently been contracted to sell 150+ cars for 2 private collectors who wish to remain anonymous. This will be a 5- or 6-month project, so you might want to add me to your "Favorite Sellers". About 75% of these cars are Chevy and Pontiac project cars, about 10% street rod project cars, about 5% Mopar, Ford, trucks and other stuff, and about 10% are finished, running, driving cars. The intent is to get them all listed here until they're all sold and shipped. Any listing that doesn't sell will be crushed, which will net the sellers about $500 per vehicle. Therefore, the minimum price on the really rough project cars will be $500 and not subject to negotiation. That info will be part of the description of the vehicle to which this rule applies. Just so you know. If you are looking for a particular vehicle, send me the year, make, and model through the "Ask A Question" link. If the seller has one or more, I'll do my best to get it/them listed ASAP. We won't be parting out any of these cars, I won't send a list of the cars/trucks available, and I won't give anyone the reserve when there is one, so please don't ask. We are currently working on a group of 30 or so cars to get this whole liquidation started, and my goal is to have at least 7 cars listed on any given day throughout this long-term project. Most of the cars will need a total restoration, so I'll help with parts if that will help you decide. I'm a Sherman Parts distributor and I'll consider offering a discount on any parts needed for any particular listing. Let me know if there's something in particular you need through the "Contact Seller" link. We have all of the inventory advertised locally, so I reserve the right to cancel any listing at any time without notice. The exception to the exercise of this right is if the bid price meets/exceeds the reserve, in which case, that listing will remain active till its eBay expiration date and time. I won't cancel or sell any listing out from under a bidder who has met/exceeded the reserve price for any listing where a reserve price exists. All reasonable offers will be considered. =================================================================== Vehicle Description In a nutshell, this is a 1-owner, complete matching numbers, running/driving 65 Impala SS 409 340HP 4-speed car with 72359 original miles. The documentation includes the original purchase paperwork and the build sheet. I've decoded the cowl tag below because the paint and interior were dealer modifications done after the purchase at the request of the original owner. The under-dash AC unit is also a dealer-installed option when purchased. The only thing missing is the radio antenna on the right quarter panel. This is a 100% untouched original survivor. There is no evidence of any repairs of any sort beyond routine maintenance. In addition, there is no rust rot in the floors, trunk, or exterior sheet metal except for some small paint bubbles on the lower rear quarter panel section on both quarter panels. It has gauges, a 5600-rpm red line tach, and a console-mounted clock. All of the interior and exterior trim is present, and any imperfections are minor at worst. *According to a post on ChevyTalk.org, there were a total of 2,086 of the L33 409/340hp and 742 of the 409/400hp in 1965 full-size factory production, but there is no mention of the number of automatics and 4-speeds built within each of those 2 numbers, nor is there a list of which models Chevy is calling "full-size", so the "1 of less than 2086" is most likely 1 of a lesser number. Cowl Tag: 09D ST 65-16637 BODY BT 934 TR 815 PAINT SS ACC. 09D - 4th week of Sept, 1964 build date 65-16637 - 1965 Impala V8 2-dr. Sport Coupe BT - Arlington, TX Plant 934 - Unit number built that week 815 - Black vinyl bucket seats SS - Sierra Tan Metallic ACC. - no accessory codes listed As noted, I'll answer any questions and provide additional pictures in a timely manner, so don't hesitate to ask if you're seriously interested. Be sure to read the entire listing for other pertinent information. =================================================================== Shipping Info Buyer agrees to arrange, pay for, and schedule shipping, or he/she may pick up the car in person. There is a forklift available to load the car on a trailer if we're unable to make it a roller. In any case, payment in full is required prior to pickup. See "Payment Info" for more information, or contact me prior to auction end to make other payment/shipping arrangements. Payment Info Payment in full is payable within 24 hours if the final sale price is $3000 or less. Otherwise, a $500 deposit is payable immediately upon auction end, and the balance is due via direct wire transfer. If the buyer prefers Paypal, then the buyer agrees to pay an additional 3% of this balance to cover Paypal seller fees. If this is going to be a problem, please contact me prior to the end of the auction to make other arrangements. In any case, the final price is payable in full prior to pickup or loading on a transport for delivery. On Jan-28-12 at 06:57:32 PST, seller added the following information: 1/28/12 I will be adding more pictures, including some of the documentation, no later than noon CST, 1/29/12. On Jan-29-12 at 10:21:41 PST, seller added the following information: 1/29/12 Due to circumstance beyond our control, the pictures and other info I promised for today will be posted before 12 noon CST tomorrow, 1/30/12. My apologies to all. On Jan-30-12 at 08:17:12 PST, seller added the following information: 1/30/12 On closer inspection, I found some rust rot, but nothing I would call significant. There's a small hole in the right rear wheel well lip, and 2 larger holes in the right half of the trunk pan. I believe those can be repaired without buying any sheet metal, but if a replacement pan is the way the buyer wants to proceed, I'll agree to sell that at a deep discount from the retail cost since I have a Sherman Parts wholesale account. My way of apologizing for the initial over-site. I've posted pictures of the build sheet, the Owner's Manual, and original certificate of title, dated 1/14/1965. The pictures of the VIN on the block isn't easily readable, but you can see the last 4 digits of the VIN, "T0817", and "JB" (340HP, 4-speed) on the pad, and an "X" on the left side of the block. In the upper right corner of the build sheet you will see the entire VIN code which glues it all together. On the right side of the axle tube is the "DD" non-posi 12-bolt code, with an "8" 3 or 4 spaces to the right. The pictures of that just aren't readable. I need a better camera. I've maxed out the number of pictures I can upload, so I've created a photo album on my web site. Just click this link: My Photo Gallery
