Vehicle Detail
Up for auction from the Mustang Shop is...'61 Econoline Panel One and one ONLY at this price! First-year 1961 Ford Econoline van. This sweet ride has a 200ci 6 cylinder engine and a 3-speed shift-me-on-the-column transmission. This particular van is extra awesome as it's a rare full panel - Perfect as a shop truck or unique delivery vehicle. Was originally white & red, have a clear title. It was someone's project with aspirations of restoration. Some bodywork has been started and primer applied to the whole thing. The dash is apart and wiring hanging loose, the gauges and dash parts are included in a box. The engine will start right up when power is jumped to the coil. It can sit for months and will fire right up. The block is grey in color which leads me to believe that it had a remanufactured motor installed at one point. The tranmission will shift through all of its gears. Being that it must be hotwired to run it's essentially not driveable, it must be trailered, but we have run and driven it around the parking lot. The front floor pan area is rusted through, however the rest of the van is in remarkably rust-free condition. See photos below for pictures of the frame rails and floors, they are in amazingly good shape and the van is actually very solid. My guess is that it may have had a piece of carpet in front that became wet and held moisture in one spot. The back end, walls, roof and doors are all in nice clean shape. There is a dent under the rear side door, and two rust areas in lower corners of the front end. It has a crank-open roof vent in the back. Bodywork had been started on the front end and primered but never finished. The front headlamp area trim is in nice straight condition. I have provided a bunch of photos to try and clearly show the condition that the van is in, i do not have any further history or information. Who is The Mustang Shop?
