General Information I have recently been contracted to sell 150+ cars for 2 private collectors who wish to remain anonymous. This will be a 5- or 6-month project, so you might want to add me to your "Favorite Sellers". About 75% of these cars are Chevy and Pontiac project cars, about 10% street rod project cars, about 5% Mopar, Ford, trucks and other stuff, and about 10% are finished, running, driving cars. The intent is to get them all listed here until they're all sold and shipped. Any listing that doesn't sell will be crushed, which will net the sellers about $500 per vehicle. Therefore, the minimum price on the really rough project cars will be $500 and not subject to negotiation. That info will be part of the description of the vehicle to which this rule applies. Just so you know. If you are looking for a particular vehicle, send me the year, make, and model through the "Ask A Question" link. If the seller has one or more, I'll do my best to get it/them listed ASAP. We won't be parting out any of these cars, I won't send a list of the cars/trucks available, and I won't give anyone the reserve when there is one, so please don't ask. We are currently working on a group of 30 or so cars to get this whole liquidation started, and my goal is to have at least 7 cars listed on any given day throughout this long-term project. Most of the cars will need a total restoration, so I'll help with parts if that will help you decide. I'm a Sherman Parts distributor and I'll consider offering a discount on any parts needed for any particular listing. Let me know if there's something in particular you need through the "Contact Seller" link. We have all of the inventory advertised locally, so I reserve the right to cancel any listing at any time without notice. The exception to the exercise of this right is if the bid price meets/exceeds the reserve, in which case, that listing will remain active till its eBay expiration date and time. I won't cancel or sell any listing out from under a bidder who has met/exceeded the reserve price for any listing where a reserve price exists. All reasonable offers will be considered. =================================================================== Vehicle Description This auction is for a 1966 factory red with black buckets Impala SS396 4-speed project car that's in pretty rough shape, but it's a true 16837 V8 2-door SS hardtop. I've tried to include pictures of everything described below, so look them over closely. If I've left out any information or picture you want, please let me know. I'll answer all questions in a timely manner, and be sure to read the entire listing for other important information about this listing. The front fender emblem identifies it as a big block car. In addition, the documentation I've found says that there were no Impalas badged as "SS427" even though there were some Impalas built with the 427. So my conclusion is that this is a 396 car. The tach on the dashboard is factory installed and not after-market. It will need complete front and rear floor pans, a complete trunk pan with filler panels, driver's side front and rear lower quarter panel patch panels, a passenger's side inner fender well (or at least some patching), a battery tray, a lower rear window channel and various patches, a package tray, a deck lid, and a complete passenger's side quarter panel. The hood will need some patch work done or to be replaced. There is no engine or transmission, as you can see. It has a 12-bolt rear end that may or may not be a posi since there's no posi tag visible. This is a non-AC, manual brake, manual steering car with all interior parts present, including all of the dash trim, complete buckets and rear seat, and the hard-to-find, expensive ($800, give or take) factory 4-speed console. Both bumpers will need to be rechromed, and the rear bumper appears to be slightly bowed in in the middle. All but the driver's side rocker panel trim is present. Both quarter panel end caps are also missing but both taillight buckets and lenses are present and complete. The "Murphay Leonard" dealer tag on the trunk lid implies that this car has lived in the same Texas county its entire life. The storage area where it is stored is just a few miles from Murphy. Just thought that was an interesting tidbit. I haven't found any evidence that this car has ever been wrecked or patched anywhere with bondo. All of the sheet metal and paint appears to be 100% original and 100% untouched, except for the rust that has accumulated over the years. The glass is in incredibly good shape. There are no cracks in any of the glass except the windshield, and I believe all of it can be buffed out and reused. The bucket seats are complete, including the metal seat backs. They've got a lot of surface rust but are restorable. The driver's-side frame-to-inner-fender-well brace is missing on the passenger's side in the engine compartment. The entire suspension is complete and is probably all original although that's not verifiable. The clutch linkage is complete from the pedal to the Z-bar connector. Be sure to read the entire listing for other pertinent information. =================================================================== Shipping Info Buyer agrees to arrange, pay for, and schedule shipping, or he/she may pick up the car in person. There is a forklift available to load the car on a trailer if we're unable to make it a roller. In any case, payment in full is required prior to pickup. See "Payment Info" for more information, or contact me prior to auction end to make other payment/shipping arrangements. Payment Info Payment in full is payable within 24 hours if the final sale price is $3000 or less. Otherwise, a $500 deposit is payable immmediately upon auction end, and the balance is due via direct wire transfer. If the buyer prefers Paypal, then the buyer agrees to pay an additional 3% of this balance to cover Paypal seller fees. If this is going to be a problem, please contact me prior to the end of the auction to make other arrangements. In any case, the final price is payable in full prior to pickup or loading on a transport for delivery.
