Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1973 MGB GT in project condition. This car was actually running great and so beautiful, after several thousand dollars worth of work and love, when I parked it for what was supposed to be a 6 month stay in NYC. That was three years ago and counting. It was started weekly for about a year, then my folks just didn't have the time for it anymore. It is now in a pretty sad state, and needs some serious tlc. Just generally: --It had just about all new everything mechanically speaking when I parked it, but I'm sure some things will need to be fiddled with and/or replaced due to lack of use. I really have no idea what it might need, since I can't start it. During it's sit some parts have been stolen; the only mechanical ones I've noted are the battery and the airfilter/cap. Obviously tires are dry rotted. --Cosmetically, it will need paint soon (the sealant on the exterior has blistered in places), and it is missing the drivers side mirror and decorative logo hub covers. There is some rust on the undercarriage, as you might expect from a 37 year old vehicle, but it's not terrible. No major dents or dings in body. Grill is a custom made piece, not original. The interior is ok, no major tears, holes, etc in the upholstery except in the hatch area, where the upholstery and foam is in poor condition, and some general sagging on the door panels. There is no stereo. Though the photo shows the steering column w/out logo cover, but I do have it. --Clear title; mileage is likely actual but cannot be verified. This could be just a matter of replacing some things, a tuneup, and then pick up the cosmetic restoration where I left off. Or it could be a nightmare. If you're an ok mechanic and love MG's, it might be an alright bet for you. Feel free to contact me with any specific questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks for looking!
