Selling my much loved 1987 VW Westfalia. ONLY reason for selling is that I am moving to a remote city in Alaska, and this van would be garaged for most of the year. It needs to be enjoyed!! INTERIOR PERKS! -Refrigerator (Works great! Propane, battery or electric power options) -Sink (Brand new water pump this summer works awesome) -15 gal reservoir (no leaks!) -2 burner stove top (both work perfectly) -Fold out bed in the bench seat area -poptop (canvas has a couple repairs) -mattress up top (excellent condition!) -both orginal tables are in excellent condition (one for the captains chairs up front, one for the bench seat in the back. -Sony sterio with new speakers all around. The sterio features both a USB port and an AUX port. -Two removable aftermarket captains chairs for center when you need to travel with more than 5 people! Now it can seat 7!! The base plates are installed and the seats just pop off the base with you pull the cotter pin. -Factory owner manual with all maintenance done since I owned it. -Original curtains including the front one, and rear mosquito netting that snaps around the rear opening when hatch is lifted. EXTERIOR PERKS! -New headlight adjuster kit installed -GoWesty 2" receiver hitch and ball -New City water hook up receiver. MECHANICAL PERKS! -New battery installed last month (a good one, not a WalMart one) -New spark plugs, distributer cap and new BOSCH plugs -New Bilstein shocks all around -New Front driver and passenger side bearings and rotors -Hancook all season tires up front -Blizzak tires in the back -Brand new Cylinder head **note! It's didn't fail, the previous owner helicoiled one of the spark plug holes and the helicoil fell out when I went to replace the plug. It fell inside and was not retrievable. So, the head was replaced) EXTRAS! The new shocks have made a HUGE difference in the wind or tight corners. The engine fires right up with out ever a problem. Always regularly maintained. Recently checked over when the head was replaced. The mechanic said it was one of the nicest ones he has seen in awhile. When I got the van, the fridge, sink and stove were brand new. They were and 1987 version, but the previous owner took everything out to "sound proof the van" which is weird. Anyways, they are now all installed and fully functional. Fridge stays nice and cold, even during hot humid Midwest summers. The van was taken to Utah and back in May of 2011. Even on the steepest parts of the Rockies, it did just fine. I used a quarter to show their size. Since this van has spent it's life in the Midwest, the rust is VERY minimal compared to West Coast vehicles. Thanks for looking!
