1958 Plymouth Plaza Silver SpecialV8, 3 speed manual with factory overdrive It's time to let her go, meet Linda Lu, my 1958 Plymouth 2-door sedan. She's mostly un-modified from original, with her 318 V8 (poly), with 3 speed manual transmission on the column with factory overdrive. She is a lot of fun to drive and gets plenty of attention. Other options include: am radio, heater, solex glass (green tint) and that's about it. I've had here for a few years and find myself not driving her as much as I should, so she needs to go to someone who will spend more time with her. Mechanically, the engine could use a rebuild sometime in the future, as she has low compression. I've been driving her for the past two and a half years with no issue, and she motorvates just fine, but this will need to be addressed. I added AAJ disc brakes on the front in 2009, and she stops really well. However, occasionally after sitting for a few weeks the brakes can be 'touchy' on the first try, but do fine afterwards. The parking brake is weak. Otherwise, everything else functions as it should, and she is very fun to drive with that overdrive. All the lights, wipers, radio work, but the backup light comes on with the headlights. I don't know why. The body is very solid, she is from Colorado originally, I believe. She has been repainted at some point, and I have most of the Silver Special side trim, but not all. As you can see, it's not on the car. There is an area of filler on the passenger side rear quarter, it seems to be covering a dent and not rust, as I can detect without removing any paint. The car is presentable as is, but not perfect. Also, there is a scratch on the driver door, as seen in the photo. Rust is at a minimum, the trunk is very nice. However, the driver side floor does have a few holes, I tried to show in the photo from the underside. I have never pulled the rubber floormat up to investigate fully, but a hole is visible at the driver side. Aside from the floor, I find no evidence of rust anywhere else on the car. The bumpers are very nice, save a small bump on the driver side beneath the headlights. They have been re-chromed. The interior sports the original door panels and headliner, which are showing their age. The seats need recovering. The dash is nice, and speedometer and gauges function as they should. The windshield is cracked and will need replaced. All other glass is the cool solex green tint, except for the rear window, which has been replaced with clear at some point. The tires are Silvertown radials (from Coker) and have plenty of tread. If you have any questions, please let me know. I want to be as honest as possible, so I may have made her sound worse than she is, but I'd rather you be happy than surprised. She is in fairly good condition for her age, and has never been modified, save for the disc brakes.I am near Macon, Georgia, in the center of the state, just off of Interstate 75. Georgia does not issue titles for cars older than 1964, so I will sell her on a bill of sale, she is registered, tagged, and insured in my name, so there should be no problems.
