The doors close tight, the headlamps rotate open perfectly and all bright work looks great, no matter how close you look. This is a 1964 Sting Ray so, it's going to turn heads but what's more important to the actual owner (you) are little things that communicate quality; the doors opening easily and closing without a crash, the wipers coming on when you need them and no dim or burnt out bulbs . . . To all looky-loos, dreamers and tire kickers: enjoy the pictures and we really appreciate everybody going out of their way to tell us how awesome this car is. Thank you. To the actual buyer: this unusually well optioned 1964 Sting Ray was leased to the original buyer from Courtesy Chevrolet in Los Angeles, May 8, 1964. Unlike nearly all mid-year Corvettes, this rare rocket left the factory with air conditioning and power windows. It has many other important options but what you, the future owner of this spectacular classic, need to know is the stunning, unbelievable quality and superb condition of everything that matters to a well informed buyer . . . . . a '64 Corvette has so much curb-side charisma, it can be difficult to remain objective. More so, perhaps when you know the back story and how this rare Chevrolet survived so unmolested for 48 years. Not much is known after its purchase in the spring of 1964 but when you're finally standing next to this legend, it will only take a minute or so to conclude it probably didn't spend much time on the road before it entered the vast collection of a very influential Chevrolet dealer . . . . . . besides having one of the nation's top Chevrolet dealerships (Fairway Chevrolet in Las Vegas), Bill Heinrich amassed an enviable collection of new and near new Chevrolets throughout the sixties and seventies. Long time Vegas residents will recall seeing him do his own TV commercials but William Heinrich is also remembered for his generosity. He donated this low mileage, original Corvette to the Las Vegas YMCA for a charity drawing and on December 12, 1991 at the Circus Circus Hotel/Casino, a lucky lady (and local business owner) drew the winning ticket. The owner before us bought it from this nice woman a few years ago and other than doing time at various shows, it was stored in his 12-car garage. Only a handful of 1964 Corvettes left the factory with power windows and even fewer had air conditioning. This one also has the optional 300 horsepower L75 engine; a numbers matching 327 and besides purring like a kitten, it roars like a lion. Easy starting, with a smooth shifting Powerglide, this authentic Sting Ray goes down the road like a dream. Other factory extras: am/fm radio, Soft-Ray tinted glass, back-up lights and one option everybody wants in an old 'Vette . . . power steering. Very few Corvettes from this period were equipped as well as this car and together, they make this (your) Corvette an easy, competent driver on modern roads. When you get out, you can walk around and get down on your knees or look at your new (to you) Sting Ray from any angle - it will always be smooth and clean and absolutely spectacular. Look at those iconic tail lights, the perfect bumpers and the gorgeous stainless around the exhaust tips. The Larry Shinoda designed 2nd generation Corvette is a milestone classic, to put it mildly. No angle or perspective is ugly and this one, from the rear is especially dramatic. Made even more so by the sparkling condition of everything the eye sees. This is simply, one of the finest mid-year Sting Ray coupes you will ever find. In 1964, few vehicles had the sports car credentials of a Corvette. It was (is) a racy two-seater with door frames that curved up into the roof, every available engine was blistering fast and, unusual for the period, Chevy's new Sting Ray had fully independent suspension, front and rear. It was so good in fact, the chassis remained largely unchanged for the next twenty years. The knock-off wheel covers on this fine specimen are original and superb. Panel fit is great, all exterior trim is awesome. The first Corvette was born a roadster and convertibles still outsold coupes in 1964. The coupe also cost more and it was this game-changing design that helped make Chevy's star . . . a superstar. And, if you think the outside of this rare bullet is too good to imagine, wait 'till you open the door . . . . . . upholstery is great, the carpet soft and pretty and I guarantee, you will never forget you're in a rolling time capsule while inside this stunning cabin . . . . . . probably the best looking steering wheel ever put in a car and you already know an early Corvette's interior will never fail to entertain. This Corvette takes it to a whole new level with the superb condition of every single thing a person sees and touches. And we'll remind once again, your Corvette has power steering, automatic transmission and factory air conditioning that blows ice cold. Not many '64 'Vettes have a console like this. Not just power windows but superb condition, even up close. When some sellers use an adjective such as “superb” to describe a car, it is sometimes with the hope that you, the buyer, might assume the vehicle is flawless and/or perfect. At Viva Las Vegas Autos, Inc, we agree with the vast majority of our happy customers that correctly understand terms like “spectacular” “stunning” and/or “superb” are subjective. These words should only be used when a car actually is superb, relative to other stored vehicles approaching 50 years of age, like this Chevrolet. Because of the extraordinary quality and condition of this Corvette, it is all too easy to assume it is a Pebble Beach trailer queen that you wouldn’t dare take to the grocery store. Serious buyers know the difference and we can say without hesitation, that you will be “perfectly” pleased and more than just a little proud to own this unbelievable Corvette. 327 V8 (L75) 300 horsepower @ 5,000/360 lb-ft torque @ 3,200 RPM Are you going to pretend you're not wowed by this show-car engine bay? Wow is right and it's a numbers matching original too. More wow factor and more proof that this car simply does not stop impressing. Our detail department gets the shout-out for what has to be the best presented undercarriage this side of the Mississippi . . . . . . clean bolts, shiny brake lines and more pretty steel than any buyer would ever expect, you are going to want all your friends to see the exceptional level of quality you purchased. Of course this is what you wanted see under here. Wow, wow and WOW. Careful Analysis of Market Conditions Determine Our Reserves Our Premium Vehicles Consistently Exceeds the Condition of Similar Vehicles Found on the Market A note for “serious” buyers that feel knowing our reserve price will give them an advantage. If you actually want to own this vehicle, call and make an offer to buy it. It’s that simple. We will not respond to your e-mail asking for our reserve or “bottom line.” We will simply delete it. There is no “bottom line” in an auction. There is only your budget and the most you will spend to buy the vehicle. We have no way to know what that number is until you give it to us in the form of an intelligent offer. With Viva Las Vegas Autos, this is especially easy because we give you more critical buyer information than you could ever hope for. Your offer or bid is the only number that can possibly buy or win this vehicle. Put the pressure on us to say... "YES! We'll sell it for your offer." Better than half of our vehicles are sold prior to the end of the auction with offers from serious buyers. 90% of these were met without hesitation because they correctly fell into line with current market values, congruent with the superior condition of this vehicle. If you disagree with industry experts and/or actual sales results from around the globe, then simply give us your number. Remember however, the above established figures are real and, therefore, so should you offer be. Do your own research, make an honest bid and you just might take this vehicle home. WARNING TO BID RETRACTORS (aka FISHERMEN) The integrity of eBay depends on the good faith intent of both buyer and seller. You compromise your integrity when you fish for the reserve with bids you do not intent to honor. BIDDER'S THAT RETRACT THEIR BIDS WILL BE REMOVED AND BLOCKED PERMANENTLY FROM THIS AUCTION AND ALL OF OUR FUTURE AUCTIONS. Don't Make eBay your playground. eBay's lack of real consequences, unfortunately allows low caliber individuals to assume eBay Auctions are a game. Let's make this a fair auction for all bidders.
