Vehicle Detail

I am listing this for a friend, and will add accurate descriptions as the auction progresses. Initial observations and owner statements point to a low hours, indoor stored ATC with no sign of abuse and several aftermarket performance parts. I will not pass along what a blast it's supposed to be until I have verified that for myself. This job can be tough, but I'm dedicated. Any guidance you can offer as to what parts are non-original would be appreciated; The plastics (which are very nice) say Maier, the axle is four feet wide, and I don't know if the diamond plate engine shields are Honda parts. My knowledge of ATCs is minimal, but I do know how a healthy 250 two stroke should run. I even have some high octane premix around the shop, be a shame to let it go bad...Lots more information coming as this bike gets thorough scientific evaluation. It's currently in a secure heated warehouse, and can remain for 30 days free if you're going to pick up. Otherwise, I could take the rear axle off and ship it on a pallet - I will run some sample freight quotes and add those too. Thanks for Looking! Dan Larson On Jan-14-12 at 17:42:12 PST, seller added the following information: 1/14/12 Rocket science was applied to the target vehicle with the following results: This thing is a blast. Note damage to throttle grip shown in the pictures. I now understand exactly how that happened. This bike starts first kick from the seated position. Idles high until the choke is eased off, then idles down smoothly. Clutch and shifter work fine, four forward gears found and tested. Pretty squirrelly on asphalt, but I had to perform my tests... I can see how much fun this would be in sand or snow too, but Denver Parks and Rec gets all whiny. It's not like anyone was trying to use the dang tennis court. Anyway, I got a quick course in three wheel navigation, and found that certain RPM ranges offered the "Dial a Wheelie" mode, surely fun no matter where you use it. Admittedly, steering suffers while airborne, but the smoothest ride I got on the asphalt was straight ahead on the back wheels. Engine pulls hard in all gears. Aside from the throttle grip(the other side is OK, go figure), the only thing I would mention is that the carb drips if the petcock is left open. I ran this bike for 10-15 minutes, up to full operating temperature, checked brakes (both ends fine), then pulled it back into the shop and shut off the petcock. The last picture shows a quarter sized drip that took a half hour to form, and it hasn't grown since. I was asked about leaks, and from having it around for a while I'd say no, this isn't a leaker. I was also asked if I had any video of the bike in action, and I really wish I had - it sounds great (I don't know if the Answer muffler is original, but it's nice), runs strong, starts easily, and gives you the kind of smile that comes along with gripping the throttle real hard...I appreciate your questions and patience, and bid well: This is a good one. Thanks for Looking! Dan LarsonOn Jan-14-12 at 18:42:07 PST, seller added the following information: 1/14/12 Forgot to add the freight information. If you would prefer to ship via freight carrier, I will take the axle off and strap the bike to a standard 48 X 40 pallet 40 high and ship from a commercial warehouse dock in central Denver. Like the 30 days storage, there is no charge for this service - you pay actual freight cost only. Following are estimates for rates to different cities so you can get a ballpark idea of costs - I ran the same info through to LA 90212 $245, Chicago 60702 $205, NYC 10012 $396, Albany NY 12207 $314, Miami 33129 $379, and Seattle 98144 $302. Note that these rates were second on the list from FreightCenter.com, meaning you may do better, but not worse. Also note that freight rates are for a business with receiving dock on your end too; residential lift gate delivery costs a lot more. Hope this helps, And Thanks Again! Dan
