Vehicle Detail

1969 Oldsmobile Toronado, 59, 829 miles. Rust free California car, power windows, seat, antenna, steering, brakes, tilt and telescoping steering wheel. Runs strong, shifts well and gets attention everywhere you go. Car was painted last year, front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed, new Kumho P235/70R 15 795 Touring A/S radial tires, disc front brakes and drums in the rear. Car was recently tuned with new plugs, points, condenser, rotor, distributor cap and all new spark plug wires. New alternator, voltage regulator, starter & battery. New rear view mirror. Emission equipment was replaced, (PCV, etc.) No smog test required in California. May qualify for Antique Car Insurance from State Farm, $10/month, 2,000 mile per year limit. Previous owner replaced the muffler and tail pipes but not the resonators. Car sounds a little louder than stock. Some may like the sound, some may not. Resonators are $76 each at Auto Zone (not installed). Rear seat bottom was just updated with new burlap and foam rubber. Rear seat belts do not show in pictures, they are stowed under the seat. All are serviceable. Car originally had a remote trunk release which has been removed sometime in the last 43 years. Button in glove box is there as is the vacuum line to trunk. I have not been able to locate an actuator. Air conditioner is not working, reason unknown. Heater/defroster works fine. Radio: Original, non-working AM/FM stereo comes with the car in a box. I removed it to get repaired and found that that idea was very cost-ineffective. All knobs, hardware, etc are included. I was going to replace it but decided my tastes and the new owners may not coincide. New radios designed to fit this car with no modifications are available from a variety of sources. The rear speaker has been removed and the front speaker looks very old but is almost impossible to replace. Under seat and kick plate speakers are easy to add and a dual cone rear speaker can reproduce very good stereo. Spare tire has good rim, poor tire and no jack. Includes owner’s manual and CD of 1969 Fisher Body Manual/Oldsmobile Chassis Service Manual Known problem areas: Small ding on right front fender, small dent in rear window frame on drivers side. Small area of what appears to be power steering fluid under car after a few days of sitting. Scratches the back of the front seats. (see pix) Rear shelf shows wear. Front arm rests are starting to crack. Small paint bubbles on the passenger window post. Collector Car Price Guide places this car at a value between $7,430 to $11,550. Don't let this one get away.
