Vehicle Detail
1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Power Steering. This is an beautiful example of a frame-up restored FJ40. Power Steering: Saginaw and control arms have been professionally added. Steering is tight and works great!! Body Overview: All of the hinges and body panels were taken apart and sent to the sand blaster. Then the pieces were sanded and treated with etching primer. Then a second coat of filler sealer was added. The cruiser was completely disassembled and sent to the painter in pieces. The painter applied another base coat sealer and then sprayed. The red paint color is Toyota T-309. The hard top, doors, fenders, windshield, top, hood, were removed and taken apart, window glass was removed, sand blasted, painted, and put back together as described above. The front fenders were purchased new from CoolCruisers. Rear quarter panels are solid steel diamond plate and the sides and under the front doors are new steel. The rear bed is also a solid piece of 3/8" steel welded and bolted into place (see pics). Interior Overview: The front seats (aftermarket with sliders and reclining adjustments) were taken to a professional upholsterer. The foam was rebuilt and the covers were added. Prior to installation I also painted the metal supports on the floor and the steel channels on the sides of the seats. Aftermarket seat belts are in place for these seats. I added a Spector head liner. I put the original front rubber floor mat and rear tub mat. The rear jump seats have the original jump seat cushions and covers and are in good condition. The roll bar was pulled out, sanded and painted. All front door, rear ambulance door, hard top weather stripping was purchased new and installed. Drive Train: The straight 6-cyl has plenty of power and mechanically tested for compression. The transmission goes through the gears easily. The transfer case was professionally rebuilt using a rebuild kit from SOR and the work was done by Cruiser Engineering in Salt Lake City. The emergency brake is fully functional. The undercarriage was been treated with rubberized undercoating. I completely cleaned the front hub and ball systems and you can see from the pictures they are very clean and not leaking. The tires are 33x12.50/r15 BF Goodrich AT with roughly 65-80% tread life remaining. The rims are slightly used but are in excellent condition. Electrical: Brand new OEM front signals have been installed. The rear light assemblies are not OEM but functional. All gauges and lights work perfectly. There is an aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM CD receiver in place. All gauges work perfectly. Front and rear heaters work. Windshield (no fluid), hazard, fan, etc all work great. Extras: There are too many extras to list or remember. Some that I can think of include a SOR heavy duty front bumper, new apron emblems, Rancho 5000 shocks, SOR dash cover, new windshield wipers, hood latches and pads, new front door pins, most of the 10mm and 12mm bolts have been replaced in both the main body, hood, doors and hard top. New bumperettes from CoolCruisers. New upper window felt from SOR. SOR fender flares, SOR tube sliders/side steps, Brand new windshield glass. New front and rear door weatherstripping, new hard top weatherstripping, new windshield weatherstripping, (I spent over $2500 in parts from SOR and CoolCruisers). Needs: This FJ40 needs some minor things such as a radio antenna, speakers (I didn't want to cut the door panels so I figured the new owner might want to have them professionally placed somewhere in the vehicle), some pipe from the muffler out the back (less than 4' of pipe - around $50 expense), If you're looking for a reliable Land Cruiser that will turn heads this is the one. ** Not pictured is the spare tire/rim that exactly matches the rims on the vehicle. It has been ordered but not installed. Conditions of Purchase: Please don't bid if you don't intend to follow through. I require $1000 down within 2 days of the close of the auction. This can be a check, cash, cashiers check. I prefer a wire transfer to save time. Once the deposit clears, I will OVERNIGHT the title to you so you know this is a real transaction. The title is a clean and clear Utah title. After the deposit, you need to pay in full within 7 days of the close of the auction. Payable by the same forms as listed above or payable in person when you pick up the vehicle. If you live outside of the state of Utah I suggest shipping the vehicle but that is up to you. I have a few names of agencies that will deliver the vehicle to your front door. Final note: Absolutely NO Paypal since Paypal only protects the buyer, not the seller. They also charge the seller 3% of the transaction. Questions & Disclosures: Feel free to call 801-556-9399 to ask questions or make an offer. I reserve the right to end this auction early at any time. The vehicle is for sale As-Is.
